"Show Your Love" is a song by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai for her third studio album Show Your Love (2000). It was written by Chen Ching-nan, composed and produced by Paul Lee. The track was released as the album's single on December 13, 2000, by Universal. [1]
On July 11, 2000, Tsai traveled to New York City to attend a two-month vocal training program at the Juilliard School. [2] On November 24, 2000, media outlets reported that she had completed the recording of her new album. [3] On December 7, 2000, reports confirmed that the album would be released on December 22, 2000. [4] On December 13, 2000, Tsai released the title track "Show Your Love" as the lead single from the album. [5] The song also served as the Chinese theme song for the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas. [6]
"Show Your Love" is an upbeat party track that features backing vocals from eight African-American singers, whose rhythmic harmonies added to the song's dynamic sound. [6]
The music video for "Show Your Love" premiered on December 12, 2000, across major Taiwanese online platforms including Kimo, PChome, Yam, Yahoo, and Sina. It was also broadcast in 70 City Chain stores across Taiwan, on a 100-inch LED screen mounted on the "Jolin Battle Bus" in northern Taiwan, at 10 Mobitai outlets in central Taiwan, and on the outdoor screen of Hanshin Department Store in Kaohsiung. On December 31, 2000, Tsai performed "Show Your Love" at the New Year Eve's Concert in Taipei.
