Show on Cruel Stage (Chinese :殘酷舞台真實錄) is Taiwanese Mandopop artist Show Lo's first concert DVD album. It was released on 11 July 2008 by EMI Music Taiwan. [1] It was recorded during the 2007 Show Lo (Show On Stage) World Tour (一支獨SHOW 世界巡迴演唱會) concerts held on 17 and 18 November 2007 at Taipei Arena, Taiwan.
Traditional Chinese characters are Chinese characters in any character set that does not contain newly created characters or character substitutions performed after 1946. They are most commonly the characters in the standardized character sets of Taiwan, of Hong Kong and Macau, and in the Kangxi Dictionary. The modern shapes of traditional Chinese characters first appeared with the emergence of the clerical script during the Han Dynasty, and have been more or less stable since the 5th century.
Taiwanese people are people from Taiwan who share a common Taiwanese culture and speak Mandarin Chinese, Hokkien, Hakka, or Aboriginal languages as a mother tongue. Taiwanese people may also refer to individuals who either claim or are imputed cultural identity focused on Taiwan or areas under the control of the Government of the Republic of China since 1945, including Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu islands. At least three competing paradigms are used to identify someone as a Taiwanese person: nationalist criteria, self-identification criteria, and socio-cultural criteria. These standards are fluid, and result from evolving social and political issues. The complexity resulting from competing and evolving standards is compounded by a larger dispute regarding Taiwan's identity, the political status of Taiwan, and its potential de jure Taiwan independence or Cross-Strait Unification.
Mandopop refers to Mandarin popular music. The English term was coined around 1980 soon after "Cantopop" became a popular term for describing popular songs in Cantonese; "Mandopop" was used to describe Mandarin-language popular songs of that time, some of which were versions of Cantopop songs sung by the same singers with different lyrics to suit the different rhyme and tonal patterns of Mandarin. It is now used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin.

The album features songs from his first five studio albums, from his debut album, Show Time in 2003 to Show Your Dance in 2007. [2] It also includes dance performances with guests Karen Mok on 17th and Rainie Yang on 18th, as well as Show's performance of tracks by Cantopop artist Alex To and Aaron Kwok. The duets with guests, Jolin Tsai, "天空" (Sky), on 17th and Elva Hsiao, "敗給你" (Lost To You), on 18th, were not included due to copyright and technical issues.
Show Time is Taiwanese Mandopop artist Show Lo's debut Mandarin solo studio album. It was released on 5 December 2003 by Avex Taiwan. The album sold 50,000 copies within two weeks of release. Avex Taiwan announced at the album's celebration party, on 12 January 2004, that over 80,000 copies were sold leading to a celebration version to be published, which included Show's directorial debut of a 30-minute music drama.
Show Your Dance is Taiwanese Mandopop artist Show Lo's fifth Mandarin studio album. It was released on 16 November 2007 by EMI Music Taiwan. This is Show's first album since moving from Avex Taiwan to EMI Music Taiwan.
Karen Mok is one of the leading Chinese actresses and pop singers. She has won the Golden Melody Award three times, has released over 20 solo CDs, acted in over 40 movies and has over 14 million followers on Chinese microblogging site Weibo.
The album debuted at number one on Taiwan's G-Music Weekly Top 20 Audio/Video Chart (影音榜) at week 28 (11–17 July 2008) with a percentage sales of 38.02%. It peaked at number one for four week and charted in the Top 20 for 61 weeks. [3]
The album was awarded one of the Top 10 Selling Mandarin Albums of the Year at the 2008 IFPI Hong Kong Album Sales Awards, presented by the Hong Kong branch of IFPI. [4]
