Shyam Singh Yadav (born 31 March 1954) is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the leader of the party in the Lok Sabha. [2] [3] [4] He is the chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Papers laid on the Table since 2019. He is also the member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal and Steel; Parliamentary Joint Committee on Offices of Profit; member of Parliamentary General Purposes Committee (Lok Sabha); and member of Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Yadav has represented India in international shooting events and has also coached the Indian shooting team at the Beijing Olympic Games 2008 and Melbourne Commonwealth Games 2006.

Personal life

Shyam Singh Yadav was born on 31 March 1954 to father Uma Shankar Singh Yadav and mother Indrawati Yadav in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. He achieved his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science (1976) and LLB (1979) degrees from Allahabad University. He married Pushpa Yadav on 11 March 1986, with whom he has a son and a daughter. He is an advocate and agriculturalist by profession. He lives in Ranipatti village in Mariahu. [5] [1]

Career

Yadav held various posts as a civil servant. [7]

As a former civil servant, Yadav has worked in various capacities, including sub-divisional magistrate, municipal commissioner, special secretary and vice-chairman of different development authorities. [8]

Yadav is also an ace shooter. He has participated in a number of shooting competitions at both national and international level. [6] He was the Indian coach of rifle shooting and has also coached Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. [7] He coached the Indian shooting team at the Beijing Olympic Games 2008 and Melbourne Commonwealth Games 2006. [9] [10] Yadav is the President of Uttar Pradesh State Rifle Association and the Vice President of Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association. He has also been the Treasurer of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). [11] Was a member of Advisory Board of Censor Board in Mumbai from 2016-2019. [5]

Mariahu (Mariyahu) is a town and a nagar panchayat in Jaunpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Its name Mariahu was given by Nanwag (Nandwak) king Naun Rao in 16th century on the name of Mandav Deo, the patreon deity of the Nanwag clan. The samadhi of Mandav dev is situated near to Chutka Devi temple which is in the east of tehsil. Mostly tehsil was ruled by Nanwag Rajputs who were the local rulers during 16th and 17th century. Baghi Sangram Singh a leader of the Nanwags revolted against the British East India company during the revolt of 1857 and defeated them on several occasions. It is one of the six tehsils of Jaunpur district, with the others being Jaunpur city, Shahganj, Machalishahar, Badlapur and Keraket.

Rajesh Verma is an Indian politician, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Loksabha Member of Parliament. He was elected to the 13th Lok Sabha in 1999, the 14th Lok Sabha in 2004, the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 and the 17th Lok Sabha in 2019 from Sitapur constituency in Uttar Pradesh state. In 2019 he won his fourth 4th election in Sitapur as a BJP candidate by 101,000 votes. He lost his Loksabha MP seats in 2024 Indian General Election from Sitapur.

Ritesh Pandey is an Indian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament from Ambedkar Nagar constituency. He was a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) from the state of Uttar Pradesh. Pandey resigned from Bahujan Samaj Party and joined Bharatiya Janata Party in February 2024. He was also a MLA from Jalalpur constituency in Ambedkar Nagar district, which he represented between June 2017 and May 2019 before elected as MP in. Rakesh Pandey is an Indian politician and a member of the 18th Uttar Pradesh Assembly from Jalalpur as a Samajwadi Party candidate. He was a Member of Parliament in the 15th Lok Sabha from Ambedkar Nagar as a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate. From 2002 to 2007, he was a MLA in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. In January 2022, Pandey left Bahujan Samaj Party and joined Samajwadi Party.
