Simas Jasaitis (born 26 March 1982) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for Orlandina Basket of the Italian Serie B. He also represented the Lithuanian national basketball team.
Jasaitis' first team in the LKL was Sakalai during the 2000-2001 season. In the fall of 2001 he moved to Lietuvos rytas, and played there till 2006. In his first season with the club he was averaging 8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Jasaitis returned to Lietuvos Rytas on 31 December 2010. [1] In July 2011 he signed a one-year deal with Türk Telekom B.K. [2] On January 5, 2015 he went back to Lietuvos rytas. [3]
On July 5, 2016, he signed with Victoria Libertas Pesaro. [4]
On July 28, 2017 Jasaitis signed with BC Lietkabelis. [5] On September 12, 2020, he signed with BC Dzūkija. [6]
On May 27, 2023, Jasaitis announced his retirement from professional basketball and was set to become an assistant coach for BC Mažeikiai in the 2023–24 season. [7] However, the deal was cancelled as Jasaitis decided to continue his playing career with Orlandina Basket of the Italian third-tier Serie B. [8]

Basketball Club Žalgiris is a professional basketball team that is based in Kaunas, Lithuania. It competes domestically in the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga. Founded in 1944, it is one of the oldest teams in the EuroLeague. Žalgiris is one of 11 European clubs that holds long-term licenses with the EuroLeague, which provides a guaranteed place in the regular-season phase of the league. Since the 2011–12 season, Žalgiris plays its home games in Žalgiris Arena, which was built just before EuroBasket 2011. The club's name commemorates the victorious Battle of Žalgiris. Both Žalgiris and Grunwald translate to "green wood".
Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL), also known as Betsafe LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the premier professional men's club basketball league in Lithuania. It is composed of 12 teams, and it is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The team plays its home games at Kalnapilis Arena, a multi-purpose facility that also doubles as a velodrome. Founded as Lietkabelis in 1964, the team was known by other names between 1996 and 2012. In 2012, after a change in ownership, the team's historic name was restored. It comes from the team's main sponsor, a wire and cable manufacturing company.

BC Prienai was a Lithuanian professional basketball club based in Prienai. They played domestically in the Lithuanian Basketball League every year since winning the promotion in 2009. During the 2008–09 season, then called Rūdupis, they became the champion of the NKL and won the challenge match for a slot in the LKL. In their debut LKL season Rūdupis took seventh place, while next two seasons brought BC Prienai two bronze LKL medals. BC Prienai played in EuroCup 2011–12 with moderate success; the team won 3 games out of 6, but nonetheless failed to qualify for the next stage. More recently, the team has become a strong competitor in domestic tournaments, more than once upsetting teams such as Žalgiris Kaunas and Lietuvos rytas Vilnius.
