Sintez is a Russian professional water polo club from Kazan, Russia. The club was formed in 1974 and plays in Russia's highest division since 1993. Former Russian centar forward Andrey Belofastov is head coach.

Norbert Madaras is a Hungarian water polo player, who won the gold medal with the men's national team at the 2004 Summer Olympics and 2008 Summer Olympics. He also was on the squad that claimed the title at the 2003 World Aquatics Championships and the 2013 World Aquatics Championships. Madaras won the Euro League 2007 with Pro Recco.

Maro Joković is a Croatian water polo player. He is left-handed and plays in the right wing position. He competed at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics and won a gold medal in 2012 and a silver in 2016. He held the world title in 2007 and the European title in 2010.
Stefano Tempesti is an Italian water polo goalkeeper. He competed at five consecutive Olympics between 2000 and 2016 and won a silver medal in 2012 and a bronze in 2016. He is the second water polo goalkeeper to compete at five Olympics, after Spaniard Jesús Rollán. Tempesti was the top goalkeeper at the 2008 Olympics, with 83 saves. He was also the top goalkeeper at the 2012 Olympics, with 87 saves.
Egri Vízilabda Klub is a Hungarian water polo club based in Eger. One of the dominant teams in the country since the late 2000s, Eger won the national championship in 2011,2013,2014 and came in second in 2012. They also collected the gold medal in the Hungarian cup in 1972 and 2007. Beside the domestic successes they also finished runners-up in the LEN Cup in 2008.

Andro Bušlje is a Croatian water polo player who competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2012 Summer Olympics he was part of the Croatian team that won the gold medal. He is right-handed and plays the center defender position. From 2016 to 2019 he played for Greek powerhouse Olympiacos, with whom he won the 2017–18 LEN Champions League. He started playing water polo at the age of 12, and he made his national team debut in 2005. Bušlje is one of the top defenders in the world.
Felipe Perrone Rocha is a Spanish-Brazilian water polo player. He competed for Spain from 2003 until 2013, including in the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics. Afterwards he competed for his birth country in the 2016 Summer Olympics, as Brazil earned its first qualifying spot in 32 years as hosts. He helped Spanish water polo club CN Atlètic-Barceloneta win the LEN Champions League in 2013–14 season. His brother Ricardo Perrone also competed for Spain in water polo.
Anastasios Schizas is a Greek retired water polo player who competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Olympics. Schizas was part of the Greek national team that won the Bronze Medal in the 2005 World Championship in Montreal and the Bronze Medal in the 2004 World League in Long Beach.
Albert Español Lifante is a Spanish water polo player. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the Spain men's national water polo team in the men's event. He is 6 ft 2 inches tall. At club level, he plays for Spanish powerhouse CN Atlètic-Barceloneta.
