Siow Yi Ting (born 11 December 1985 [1] in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia) [2] is a former Olympic and national record holding breaststroke swimmer from Malaysia. She swam for Malaysia at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics. She did not swim at the 2012 Olympics, and retired in 2013. [3]

She attended university and swam for the University of Wisconsin for two years, [4] and then the University of Arkansas (2008-2010), [5] both in the USA.

She was named the female Malaysian Olympian of the Year in 2008. [6]

She has won a total of nine medals in major international competition, four gold, one silver, and four bronze spanning the Olympics, World Aquatics, and the Pan Pacific championships. Athina Tzavella is a Greek former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. Tzavella won a bronze medal in the 200 m individual medley at the 2003 European Junior Swimming Championships in Glasgow, Scotland with a time of 2:16.35, 0.11 of a second behind her teammate Vasiliki Angelopoulou. Having reached a B-standard entry time by FINA, Tzavella earned a spot on the Greek team for the Olympics.

Saw Yi Khy is a Malaysian former swimmer, who specialised in long-distance freestyle events. He clinched a bronze medal in the 1500 m freestyle at the 2003 Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam with a time of 16:07.22. Saw is also a former varsity swimmer for the Bolles School Sharks in Jacksonville, Florida, alongside his teammate Siow Yi Ting.

Margarita "Rita" Kalmikova is a Latvian former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. She is a two-time Olympian, and a former Latvian record holder in the 200 m breaststroke (2:35.37). While studying in the United States, she achieved a school record in the 200-yard breaststroke, and was named five-time All-American as a captain and rookie of Lewis University's swimming and diving team. Since her sporting career ended in 2005, Kalmikova has extensively traveled across the United States to work as an assistant coach.

SwimSwam is a swimming news organization covering competitive swimming along with diving, water polo and synchronized swimming. SwimSwam launched as a website in March 2012 and quickly became the most-read swimming website in the world. SwimSwam was named one of NBC Sports's 100 must-follow social media handles for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
