Sissel is a 1986 album from Norwegian singer Sissel Kyrkjebø. It was her debut album which contained different genres and styles. According to her, "....The songs tell different facets of love." [1] It was sold more than 400,000 copies soon after the release, making it the best selling album in Norway at that time, in a country with a population of 4.16 million (in 1986). [2] [3]

Sissel Kyrkjebø, also simply known as Sissel, is a Norwegian soprano.
Per Björn Sigvardson Ranelid is a Swedish author from Malmö. Since the beginning of his career in 1983, Ranelid has published twenty novels and written about five hundred articles in different magazines and newspapers. The author has also made numerous speeches throughout the years since his debut. He has been living in Stockholm since 1989.
Elisabeth Gunilla Andreassen, also known simply as Bettan, is a Norwegian-Swedish singer who has finished both first and second in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Eg veit i himmerik ei borg is a Norwegian folk song, coming from Hallingdal. The text is German, from before 1600. The text was translated into Norwegian by Bernt Støylen in 1905.
"Udsigter fra Ulriken" is the town song of Bergen, Norway. It is also known as "Bergenssangen", "Bergensiana", "Jeg tok min nystemte" and among the public "Nystemten". The lyrics were written in 1790 by the priest, politician and poet Johan Nordahl Brun when he worked as vicar at Bergen Cathedral. The melody is taken from an old French minuet. Norwegian composer Johan Halvorsen wrote orchestral variations on the melody under the name "Bergensiana". A notable performance was by Sissel Kyrkjebø in 1986, when she was 16 years old. It was her big breakthrough. She performed the song during the intermission of the Eurovision Song Contest 1986, which took place in Grieg Hall in Bergen.
