Sleep for Sleepers were an American Christian alternative rock band, also defined as an alternative rock and indie rock band. The band formed in Whittier, California in 2004. The current lineup consists of vocalist and guitarist Jamey Price and drummer Chad Jordan, the latter of whom joined in mid-2013. The original lineup consisted of guitarist Chris Kellogg, bassist Jamey Price, and drummer Jeff Darcy.

Background

Sleep for Sleepers, formerly The Red Coterie, was a Christian alternative rock band from Whittier, California. [1] [2] From 2004 to 2010, their lineup consisted of Jamey Price on bass and vocals, Chris Kellogg on guitar, and Jeff Darcy on drums, until the band was dropped from Facedown Records in late 2010 and Darcy and Kellogg left the band. Price continued the project by himself, releasing the independent EP Conditions in 2011, with Chad Jordan eventually joining the band as a drummer in 2013. After a brief West Coast tour in 2013-14, and the subsequent release of the album Discovery in June 2014, the project dissolved with Price and Jordan moving on to other projects. [2] [3]

History

The Red Coterie formed in 2004 in Whittier, California with bassist Jamey Price, guitarist Chris Kellogg, and drummer Jeff Darcy. The band independently released their debut EP as The Red Coterie, entitled Vast, in 2007. In 2008, they signed with Facedown Records and changed their name to Sleep For Sleepers. Their debut album The Clearing was released through Facedown Records on May 12, 2009. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] Their follow-up EP, Everything That Has Happened Will Happen Again, was released on Facedown Records in June 2010. After being dropped from Facedown Records in late 2010, Jamey Price (as Sleep For Sleepers) signed with Dreamt Records and released another extended play, Conditions, in 2011 on the label. Their subsequent album, also released by Dreamt Records, Discovery, was released in 2014. [9]

Facedown Records is a Christian rock record label based in Fallbrook, California that is devoted to hardcore punk and metalcore bands with a few death metal acts such as Immortal Souls and Indwelling. Founded by No Innocent Victim drummer Jason Dunn in 1997, the label started small with a number of 7" record releases by Overcome, Dodgin Bullets, and Born Blind. As the label grew, it was able to sign artists for full album deals. xDISCIPLEx released material on Facedown, as well as Figure Four and Point of Recognition. The label also signs straight edge groups such as xDEATHSTARx and xLooking Forwardx.

Sinai Beach was a Christian metal band that was formed in Riverside, California, in 2000. The band has stated on multiple occasions that they are named after Mount Sinai, where Moses was given the Ten Commandments in the Bible.

Impending Doom is an American Christian deathcore band from Riverside, California. The group has released six full-length studio albums and are currently a five piece with lead vocalist Brook Reeves as one of the two original remaining members along with Manny Contreras who left the band in 2010 but returned in 2012. The band refers to their style of music as "gorship" - a portmanteau of the words gore and worship.

For Today was an American Christian metalcore band from Sioux City, Iowa, formed in 2005. They have released two EPs: Your Moment, Your Life, Your Time and Prevailer, and six full-length albums: Ekklesia on April 1, 2008, Portraits on June 9, 2009, Breaker on August 31, 2010, Immortal on May 29, 2012, Fight the Silence on February 4, 2014 and Wake on October 2, 2015.

Mattie Montgomery is an American musician and the former lead vocalist and frontman of Christian metal band For Today from 2007. He released six albums and one EP with the band before they broke up in 2016. In addition to his work with For Today, Montgomery has his own solo gospel project named after himself in which he has released three albums and two books. He now pastors a church, the Altar, in Johnson City, Tennessee.

My Epic

My Epic is an American Christian rock band from Charlotte, North Carolina started in 2005. They released an independent EP in 2006 entitled This Is Rescue, and two successive albums and one EP with Dreamt Records entitled I Am Undone (2008), Yet (2010) and 2011's Broken Voice EP. In 2013, the band released their debut album with Facedown Records entitled Behold that has seen commercial success.

Sleeping Giant (band)

Sleeping Giant was an American Christian metal band from Redlands, California and Salt Lake City, Utah. All the members of the band, minus drummer Matt Weir, played in the band xDEATHSTARx.

Overcome are an American Christian metalcore band. They come from Phoenix, Arizona. The band started making music in 1993 until their decade-long hiatus from 2000 to 2010, when they commenced making music again. Tooth & Nail Records released the band's first two albums, Blessed Are the Persecuted in 1996 and When Beauty Dies in 1997. Facedown Records has released the other albums from the band signed the band. They released Immortal Until Their Work Is Done in 1999, More Than Death in 2001, The Great Campaign of Sabotage in 2011, and No Reserves. No Retreats. No Regrets. in 2013. They were one of the first "Spirit-Filled Hardcore" bands, along with Unashamed, Focused, Strongarm, and Zao. They were the first band signed to Facedown Records. The band is playing at Facedown Fest 2017.

The Burial are an American Christian metalcore/melodic death metal band. Members are from South Bend, Indiana, Benton Harbor, Michigan and Champaign, Illinois. The band started making music in 2005. The band now consists of lead vocalist and guitarist, Elisha Mullins, lead guitarist, Todd Hatfield, drummer, Kaleb Luebchow, and bass guitarist, Alex Poole. The band released one EP, Age of Deceit, in 2009 with Sancrosanct Records. They signed with Strike First Records, where they released, The Winepress, a studio album, in 2010. Hands was an American Christian metal band from Fargo, North Dakota, United States. The band started making music in 2007, with lead vocalist and guitarist Shane Ochsner, lead guitarist Ian Johnson, bass guitarist Chris Schwartz, and drummer Josh Silbernagel. Jerik Hendrickson became the band's lead guitarist in 2010, but he has since left the band, with Shane Ochsner taking over lead guitar duties. Messengers is an American Christian metal band, and they primarily play thrash metal. They come from Dallas, Texas. The band started making music in 2008, and their members are lead vocalist, Chad Paramore, lead guitarist, Chance Paramore, bassists, Thomas Kilgore (TK), Guitarist Andy Rhodes, and drummer, Noah Boyce. The band released an extended play, Anthems, in 2010 with Facedown Records alongside Strike First Records. Later joined by Guitarist Phillip Odom Their second extended play, No Shelter, was released in 2013. Dynasty is an American Christian hardcore punk from Los Angeles, California. The band started making music in 2004, and their members are lead vocalist, Joel Muniz, guitarists, Ivan Hernandez and Marcel Muniz, bassist, Ruben Nunez, and drummer, Nick Sturz. The band released a studio album, Truer Living with a Youthful Vengeance, in 2011 with Strike First Records. Their second studio album, Beyond Measure, was released in 2013 by Facedown Records. The band is performing at Facedown Fest 2017.

Onward to Olympas was an American metalcore band from Salisbury, North Carolina. The band started making music in 2005, and disbanded in 2013. Their membership was vocalists, Chris Davis and Kramer Lowe, guitarists and vocalist, Andy Simmons, Justin Gage, and Kyle Phillips, drummer and vocalist, Mark Hudson, guitarist, Andrew Higginbotham, bass guitarist, Justin Allman, and drummers, Matt Burnside, Nick Helvey. The band released one independently made album, The End of the Beginning, in 2007, and their lone extended play, Victory at All Costs, in 2008. Their first studio album, This World Is Not My Home, was released by Facedown Records, in 2010. The subsequent studio album, The War within Us, was released by Facedown Records, in 2011. Call to Preserve was an American Christian and straight edge crossover thrash band who played a fusion hardcore punk and metalcore group. They come from Rockledge, Florida. The band started making music in 2003, and disbanded in 2011. Their membership was vocalist, John Ellis, guitarists, Duke Ahrens, Matt Aviles, and Harbor Partin, bass guitarist, Kyle Bowen, and drummer, Mike Aviles. The band released one independently made extended play, Call to Preserve, in 2003. Their first studio album, Unsinkable, was released by Strike First Records, in 2006. The subsequent studio album, From Isolation, was released by Facedown Records, in 2008. They released, Life of Defiance, with Facedown Records, in 2010, and this was final studio album. Their last release, an extended play, Validation, was released by Facedown Records, in 2011, marking this as their final musical recording.

The Sleep-ins are an indie rock band formed in Sydney, Australia. They are signed to the US label 128 Records. The band gained notoriety with their 2010 album Songs About Girls & Outer Space, which charted on the CMJ New Music Report. "Silver State", the opening song from that album, appeared in the 2013 film As Cool As I Am.

Take It Back! was an American rock band from Fayetteville, Arkansas. The band started making music in 2005, and disbanded in 2009. Their membership was vocalist, Nick Thomas, guitarists, Daniel Hawkins and Cody Bradley, and drummer, Josh Huskey. The band released an extended play, Rumors of Revolt, in 2009, with Facedown Records. Their first studio album, Can't Fight Robots, was released by Facedown Records, in 2008. Bloodlined Calligraphy is an American Christian metal band, and they primarily play metalcore. They come from Ypsilanti, Michigan. The band started making music in 1999. Their membership was Matt Carter, Ally French, Ryan Hampton, and Eric Cargile. The band released, Say Hi to the Bad Guy, an album, with Selah Records, in 2002. The group became part of Strike First Records, where they released, The Beginning of the End, an extended play, in 2004. They signed to Facedown Records, where they released, They Want You Silent, another studio album, in 2004. Their subsequent studio album, Ypsilanti, was released by Facedown Records, in 2006. Thieves & Liars (2006–2010) was an American Christian rock and Christian metal band from San Diego, California, where they formed in 2006, and disbanded in 2010. The members of the band were vocalist and bassist, Joey Bradford, drummer and vocalist, Kyle Rosa, and lead guitarist, Corey Edelmann. Their first album, When Dreams Become Reality, was released in 2008 by Facedown Records alongside Dreamt Records. The subsequent album, American Rock 'N' Roll, was released by the aforementioned record labels, in 2009.

Fleshkiller is a death metal band from Norway and Indiana, United States.
