Snook Independent School District is a public school district based in Snook, Texas, (USA). The district serves students in eastern Burleson County.

As of 2015 the district has about 50 teachers and over 500 students. [1]

History

The Texas Education Agency had put Snook ISD on probation in 2011, 2013, and 2014 due to academic performance. In 2015 the TEA warned Snook ISD to improve or else its accreditation would be revoked. [1] In October 2015 the TEA announced that the accreditation was revoked, and that closure was scheduled for July 1, 2016. [2]

Wilmer–Hutchins Independent School District (WHISD) was a school district in southern Dallas County, Texas serving the cities of Wilmer and Hutchins, a portion of Dallas, and a small portion of Lancaster. The district served urban, suburban, and rural areas. Some unincorporated areas with Ferris addresses were served by WHISD. It closed in 2006 and was absorbed by the Dallas Independent School District.

North Forest Independent School District School district in Texas

North Forest Independent School District (NFISD) was a school district in northeast Houston, Texas. Established in the early 1920s in a low-income white area, it later became majority-black and black-run. The district had a history of financial and academic issues from the late 1980s until 2013. On July 1, 2013, it was closed by order of the state and absorbed into the Houston Independent School District (HISD).

Established in 1881, the district serves most of the City of Austin and surrounding towns, the City of Sunset Valley, the Village of San Leanna, and unincorporated areas in Travis County.
