Leggett Independent School District is a public school district based in the community of Leggett, Texas (USA). In addition to the community of Leggett, Leggett ISD also serves some of the town of Seven Oaks.

A school district is a special-purpose district that operates local public primary and secondary schools in various nations.

Leggett is an unincorporated community in Polk County, Texas, United States. It is located at the junction of U.S. Highway 59 and Farm to Market Road 942. As of 2000, the community had approximately 500 residents.

The district has two campuses - Leggett High (Grades 7-12) and Leggett Elementary (Grades PK-6).

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. [1]

Texas Education Agency

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is a branch of the state government of Texas in the United States responsible for public education. The agency is headquartered in the William B. Travis State Office Building in downtown Austin. Mike Morath, formerly a member of the Dallas Independent School District's board of trustees, was appointed commissioner of education by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Dec. 14, 2015, and began serving on Jan. 4, 2016.
