Sokołowo [sɔkɔˈwɔvɔ] (German : Falkenau)^[1] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Bartniczka, within Brodnica County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland.^[2] It lies 8 kilometres (5 mi) east of Brodnica and 64 km (40 mi) east of Toruń.

German is a West Germanic language that is mainly spoken in Central Europe. It is also one of the three official languages of Luxembourg and a co-official language in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland. Gmina Bartniczka is a rural gmina in Brodnica County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. Its seat is the village of Bartniczka, which lies approximately 14 kilometres (9 mi) east of Brodnica and 70 km (43 mi) east of Toruń.

Brodnica County is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, north-central Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Brodnica, which lies 58 km (36 mi) north-east of Toruń and 95 km (59 mi) east of Bydgoszcz. The county also contains the towns of Jabłonowo Pomorskie, lying 23 km (14 mi) north-west of Brodnica, and Górzno, 18 km (11 mi) east of Brodnica.
