Sold Out is the debut studio album by DJ Paypal. [1] [note 1] It was released by Brainfeeder on November 13, 2015. [4] It is a record in the Chicago footwork style of dance music.
Paypal described it as intended to sound both beautiful and 'fucking hilarious' in an interview to Pitchfork : "Humor is the yin and yang that's missing from a lot of music. Either people take themselves way too seriously, or it's entirely a joke. I don't see it mixed together very often." [3]

At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, Sold Out received an average score of 77% based on 10 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". [5]
Colin Joyce of Spin wrote: "You'll get no closer to ascertaining his actual identity, but as the balance between jokes and earnest emoting narrows, Sold Out presents something of an abstract portrait of the man behind the haze." [13] Ashley Hampson of Exclaim! described it as "an expansive take on footwork, incorporating expressive elements of soul, hip-hop and, most notably, jazz." [8]
Paper included it on the "10 Most Underrated Albums of 2015" list. [15] PopMatters placed it at number 17 on the "Best Electronic Music of 2015" list. [16]

Elaenia is the debut studio album by British electronic musician Sam Shepherd, released under his alias Floating Points on 6 November 2015 by Shepherd's own Pluto label and Luaka Bop. Shepherd created the artwork for the album by connecting fibre-optic cables to a home made harmonograph. Shepherd had originally conceived the album to contain only one track but was advised against the idea and eventually cut the music into seven songs. Elaenia's title track was named when Shepherd experienced a dream about a bird that became engulfed in a forest after he had been reading the speculative fiction novel Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives by American neuroscientist David Eagleman.
DJ Paypal is a footwork producer. Born in North Carolina, they reside in Berlin and are a member of the Teklife crew. They have often performed live with their face hidden for reasons of anonymity. Their 2015 debut album, Sold Out, was released on Brainfeeder to generally favorable reviews.

Chinese Nü Yr is an extended play (EP) by producer Seamus Malliagh, known by his stage name Iglooghost, released on the Brainfeeder label on 30 October 2015. Containing elements of footwork, bass, grime and 2-step garage, the EP's sound is represented by a worm who goes through several nonsensical lands. To make Chinese Nü Yr, Malliagh first designed the cover art and then developed songs with structures and sound to fit the artwork. Upon release, the EP garnered generally favorable reviews from critics, a common praise being its unique style.
