The South-West Districts Championships [1] was a combined men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded in 1950. [2] The tournament was played at the Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club, Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia, [3] and ran annually until 1979 when it was discontinued as part of the ILTF Independent Circuit. [2]
In March 1950 the first South Western Districts Championships were founded. [2] The winner of the men's singles title was Ken McGregor. [2] The winner of the women's singles event was won by Joy Strickland. [2] The event was played annually on outdoor grass courts at the Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club, [4] Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia throughout its run. [2] It initially ran annually as part of the ILTF Australasia Circuit, [5] a global regional sub circuit of the larger ILTF World Circuit until 1969 for men, then 1972 for women before it then became part of the ILTF Independent Circuit (those events not part of the men's ILTF Grand Prix Circuit or women's Virginia Slims Circuit until 1979 when it was downgraded from that tour. Today the venue for these former championships being the Warrnambool Tennis Club is one of the largest tennis facilities in Australia. With 26 grass courts, [6] 6 porous courts and 2 plexipave courts. [7]

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the governing body of world tennis, wheelchair tennis, and beach tennis. It was founded in 1913 as the International Lawn Tennis Federation by twelve national tennis associations. As of 2016, there are 211 national and six regional associations that make up the ITF's membership.
The racket sport traditionally named lawn tennis, invented in Edgbaston, Birmingham, England, now commonly known simply as tennis, is the direct descendant of what is now denoted real tennis or royal tennis, which continues to be played today as a separate sport with more complex rules. The Virginia Slims of Fort Lauderdale is a defunct WTA Tour affiliated women's tennis tournament founded in 1946 as a combined men's and women's event called the Austin Smith Championships that was part of the ILTF Circuit. The tournament played at the Fort Lauderdale Tennis Club from 1946 to 1974. It was held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the United States and played on outdoor clay courts.
The 1975 Commercial Union Assurance Grand Prix was a professional tennis circuit administered by the International Lawn Tennis Federation (ILTF) which served as a forerunner to the current Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour and the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Tour. The circuit consisted of the four modern Grand Slam tournaments and open tournaments recognised by the ILTF. The Commercial Union Assurance Masters, Davis Cup Final and Nations Cup are included in this calendar but did not count towards the Grand Prix.

It was first played at Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club, South Yarra, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The tournament was staged until 1968 when it was discontinued as part of the ILTF Circuit.

The Pennsylvania State Clay Court Open Championships was a men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded in 1932 as the Pennsylvania Clay Court Championships. It was staged annually Allentown then Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States. In 1972 it ceased to part of the official worldwide ILTF Circuit.
The Alverstoke Open was an annual combined tennis tournament founded in 1909 as the Gosport Tournament at Alverstoke, Hampshire, England. The tournament was mainly played on grass courts except for the 1921 to 1923 editions which were played on clay courts. The tournament was part of the ILTF Circuit and ended in 1981.

The Asian Championships also known as the Asian International Championships or Asian Lawn Tennis Championships was an open international men's and women's grass and clay court tennis tournament founded in 1949 as the International Championships of Asia. The tournament was one of eight official championships of the International Lawn Tennis Federation. It was first played at the Calcutta South Club, Calcutta, India. The international tournament was played at other locations until September 1972 when it was discontinued as part of the ILTF Independent Tour.
The Florida State Open Championships also known as the Florida State Championships or Florida Open was an open international men's and women's clay court tennis tournament founded in 1910 as the Winter Championships of Florida. It was first organised by the Palm Beach Tennis Club and first played on clay courts adjacent to the Royal Poinciana Hotel, Palm Beach Florida, United States. The international tournament was played at other locations throughout its run until September 1972 when it was discontinued as part of the ILTF Independent Tour.
The Marrickville and District Hardcourts was an open international men's and women's hard court tennis tournament founded in 1970. It was first organised by the Marrickville and District Hardcourt Tennis Association and played at the Marrickville Hardcourt Tennis Club, Marrickville in Sydney. This international tournament was part of the ILTF World Circuit until 1972, then the ILTF Independent Tour from 1973 to 1983 when it was discontinued.
The New South Wales Hard Court Championships was a men's and women's open tennis tournament founded in 1915, and first held at Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. It was first organised by the Dubbo District Tennis Association in conjunction with the New South Wales Lawn Tennis Association and was played on clay courts. It was staged as part of ILTF Australasia Circuit a sub circuit of the ILTF World Circuit until 1972, then became part of the ILTF Independent Tour until 1984 and finally part of the Tennis Australia Circuit till 1988 when it was discontinued as a senior event.
The Tournoi de La Châtaigneraie or the La Chataigneraie Tournament was a men's and women's open international clay court tennis tournament founded in 1968. It was organised by the Tennis Club la Chataigneraie and played at La Châtaigneraie, France until 1983. The tournament was part ILTF European Circuit a sub circuit of the ILTF World Circuit until 1972, then became part of the ILTF Independent Tour until it was discontinued.
The Kenya Open also known as the Kenya Championships was a men's and women's tennis tournament founded in 1934 as the Kenyan International Championships. later called the Kenyan Closed Championships It was organised by the Kenyan Lawn Tennis Association (f.1922), Nairobi, Kenya and played on clay courts and ran until 1986 as part of the ILTF Independent Circuit.
The Nice International Winter Championships or Championnats Internationaux d'Hiver de Nice was a men's and women's tennis tournament founded in 1922 as the Nice Lawn Tennis Club Winter Cup also known as the Parc Imperial Winter Tournament or Nice Winter Tournament.
