Southern Buskerud Police District (Norwegian : Romerike politidistrikt) is one of 27 police districts in Norway, covering the southern part of Buskerud and northern Vestfold. The district is headquartered in Drammen and consists of two police stations, at Drammen and Kongsberg, and eight sheriff's offices. The district is led by Chief of Police Johan Brekke. [1] Specifically the police district covers the municipalities of Drammen, Kongsberg, Øvre Eiker, Nedre Eiker, Lier, Røyken, Hurum, Flesberg, Rollag in Buskerud and Svelvik and Sande in Vestfold. [2] As of 2011 the district had 455 employees. [3] The police district was created in 2003 as a merger between the former Drammen Police District and Kongsberg Police District. [4]

Skoger is a village in Drammen Municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. The village is located just north of the Vestfold county border, about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) south of the centre of the town of Drammen. The villages of Klever and Eikeberg are located about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) to the south and the village of Sande i Vestfold is located about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) to the south.

The company operates electricity retailing, operates the power grid in Drammen, Nedre Eiker and Kongsberg and provides services within broadband. Glitre Energi serves approximately 90,000 customers, supplying electricity to customers in the Norwegian regions of Buskerud and Hadeland. The company is responsible for the power lines in Buskerud, which make up a large distribution network across densely populated areas. Glitre Energy is owned by the City of Drammen (50%) and Buskerud County Municipality (50%). Power production has been spun off in the partially owned subsidiary EB Kraftproduksjon, where EB owns 70% and E-CO Energi owns 30%.

Romerike Police District was until 2016 one of 27 police districts in Norway, covering the Romerike district of Akershus. The district was headquartered in Lillestrøm and consisted of two police stations, at Lillestrøm and Gardermoen, and nine sheriff's offices. The district was led by Chief of Police Jørgen L. Høidahl. Specifically the police district covered the municipalities of Aurskog-Høland, Sørum, Fet, Rælingen, Lørenskog, Skedsmo, Nittedal, Gjerdrum, Ullensaker, Nes, Eidsvoll, Nannestad, Hurdal. As of 2011, the district had 651 employees. It has a special responsibility for the border control at Oslo Airport, Gardermoen.

The district is headquartered in Hønefoss and consists of one police stations and ten sheriff's offices. The district is led by Chief of Police Sissel Hammer. The police district covers the municipalities of Ringerike, Hole, Flå, Nes, Gol, Hemsedal, Ål, Hol, Sigdal, Krødsherad, Modum, Nore og Uvdal plus Jevnaker in Oppland. As of 2011 the district had 184 employees.

Eastern Finnmark Police District was one of 27 police districts in Norway from 2003-2016. It covered the eastern part of Finnmark county in Northern Norway. The district was headquartered in Kirkenes and consisted of three police stations at Kirkenes, Vadsø and Vardø, plus five sheriff's offices. The district was led by Chief of Police Ellen Katrine Hætta prior to its dissolution in 2016. Specifically the police district covered the municipalities of Vardø, Vadsø, Karasjok, Lebesby, Gamvik, Berlevåg, Tana, Nesseby, Båtsfjord, Sør-Varanger. As of 2011 the district had 165 employees. It has a special responsibility for the Norway–Russia border control at Storskog and the Reindeer Police. The police district was created in 2003 as a merger between the former Sør-Varanger Police District, Vadsø Police District, and Vardø Police District. In 2017, it was dissolved and it became part of the newly created Finnmark Police District which covered all of Finnmark county.

University of South-Eastern Norway State owned university in eastern Norway

The University of South-Eastern Norway, commonly known as USN, is a Norwegian state university. It has campuses in Bø in Telemark, Porsgrunn, Notodden, Rauland, Drammen, Hønefoss, Kongsberg and Horten. USN is a continuation of the three former university colleges, Telemark University College, Buskerud University College and Vestfold University College, which merged between 2014 and 2016 to form the University College of South-Eastern Norway. The institution was granted the status of a full university by the King-in-Council on 4 May 2018.

Vestfold og Telemark was a county in Norway, which existed from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2023. The county was the southernmost one of Eastern Norway and consisted of two distinct and separate traditional regions: the former counties of Telemark and Vestfold. The capital was located in the town of Skien, which was also the county's largest city. While Skien was the seat of the county municipality, the seat of the County Governor was Tønsberg. It bordered the counties of Viken, Vestland, Rogaland and Agder until its dissolution.

Buskerud District Court is a district court located Buskerud, Norway. This court is based at four different courthouses which are located in Drammen, Hokksund, Kongsberg, and Nesbyen. The court serves the western part of Buskerud which includes cases from 16 municipalities. The court in Drammen accepts cases from the municipalities of Drammen and Lier. The court in Hokksund accepts cases from the municipalities of Øvre Eiker, Modum, Sigdal, and Krødsherad. The court in Kongsberg accepts cases from the municipalities of Flesberg, Kongsberg, Nore og Uvdal, and Rollag. The court in Nesbyen accepts cases from the municipalities of Flå, Hemsedal, Hol, Gol, Nesbyen, and Ål. The court is subordinate to the Borgarting Court of Appeal.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Skoger Municipality</span> Former municipality in Norway

Skoger is a former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The 114-square-kilometre (44 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. The area is now part of Drammen Municipality in Buskerud county. The administrative centre was the village of Skoger and the other notable village was Konnerud.
