Speak is a compilation album consisting of previously obscure material by British Art rock band No-Man. Originally, recorded between 1988 and 1989, [2] the songs were re-mixed and re-sung in 1999 (during the band's sessions for Returning Jesus ). The songs had only been released on compact cassette earlier in the band's history. [3] [4]
Snapper Music's 2005 reissue of Speak adds the bonus track "The Hidden Art of Man Ray" (an untreated improvisation from 1988). The track also appears as a second disc on the limited edition of Tonefloat's vinyl release of Speak. [5] All tracks (except 4 and 10, which are newer versions recorded in 1999) were cleaned up from original tapes, remixed and new vocal takes recorded.
"Pink Moon" is a Nick Drake cover from his album of the same name.
All tracks are written by Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson, except where noted [6] .

His honours include six nominations for Grammy Awards: twice with Porcupine Tree, once with his collaborative band Storm Corrosion and thrice as a solo artist. Tarquin's Seaweed Farm, subtitled "Words from a Hessian Sack", is the first album to be released by Steven Wilson under the pseudonym Porcupine Tree. It was originally a compiled cassette of experimental music made by Steven Wilson for his joke band he formed with his friend Malcom Stocks. The cassette was only sent out to a few people, but was enough to give the band a bit of fame in the UK underground music scene of the time, being picked up by the underground magazine Freakbeat. It was later released under Delerium Records in 1991 in a limited edition of 300 copies.
A Little Man and a House and the Whole World Window is the debut studio album proper by the English rock band Cardiacs. Released on 21 March 1988, its single "Is This the Life?" saw brief chart success due to exposure on mainstream radio, and garnered the attention of a wider audience when it entered the Independent Top 10 in the UK, peaking at number 80. Its reputation was very mixed due to its progressive nature, complex sound, and for being artistically abstract with its lyrics and themes. Some have described its release as a defining moment in 1980s underground culture considering the group's large influence, while the single's airplay achieved a much wider audience for the band.
