In November 2023, Reiner announced musicians Paul McCartney, Elton John and Garth Brooks were set to make cameo appearances as themselves. [3]

On a budget of $22.6 million (before tax incentives), [1] filming began in New Orleans in March 2024, [4] with Questlove and Trisha Yearwood included among the cameo appearances. [5] Fran Drescher was announced to be reprising her role as Bobbi Flekman at the end of March, with John Michael Higgins and Chris Addison among the new additions to the cast.
