Gangaraju, professionally known as Hamsalekha, is an Indian film composer and songwriter who works in South Indian cinema, predominantly in the Kannada film industry since the late 1980s. He is also a screenplay writer, dialogue writer, instrumentalist and conductor, having composed and written over 500 albums.
Mayura is a 1975 Indian Kannada-language historical drama film, directed by Vijay. It is one of the most popular films of acclaimed Kannada actor Rajkumar, who plays the role of Prince Mayurasharma of the Kadamba dynasty, the earliest native kingdom to rule over what is today the modern state of Karnataka. The film depicts the life of Mayura, a Brahmin youth, as he discovers his royal heritage and realizes his destiny of ascending to the throne of the then-Pallava kingdom.
Premaloka is a 1987 Indian romantic musical film directed by Ravichandran, in his directorial debut, and produced by N. Veeraswamy under Sri Eshwari Productions. The film, based on the 1982 film Grease 2, was made simultaneously in Kannada and Tamil with the Tamil version titled Paruva Ragam. It stars Ravichandran in the lead role, alongside Juhi Chawla, Leelavathi and Lokesh in supportive roles in the Kannada version, while Jaishankar and Manorama reprise their respective roles in the Tamil version. Vishnuvardhan, Ambareesh, Tiger Prabhakar, Srinath and Urvashi made guest appearances in the film. Thengai Srinivasan, Cho Ramaswamy and Delhi Ganesh portray the respective roles of Ambareesh, Prabhakar and Srinath in the Tamil version.
Veeraswamy Ravichandran, known mononymously as Ravichandran, is an Indian actor, director, producer, music director, lyricist and editor working predominantly in Kannada cinema. The son of film producer N. Veeraswamy, he continues to produce and distribute films under his father's production house, Sri Eswari Productions. He is popularly referred to as "Crazy Star" by the media and his followers.
Kalyanaraman is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language supernatural comedy film directed by G. N. Rangarajan and written by Panchu Arunachalam. The film stars Kamal Haasan and Sridevi, while V. K. Ramasamy, Major Sundarrajan, Thengai Srinivasan, V. S. Raghavan, Senthamarai, Pushpalatha, Manorama and Master Japan Kuppu play supporting roles. It revolves around Kalyanam, a tea estate owner's son who is duped and murdered by a gang trying to seize the property. Per Sollum Pillai is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by S. P. Muthuraman, starring Kamal Haasan, Radhika, Manorama, K. R. Vijaya and Raveendran. It is loosely based on the 1960 film Padikkadha Medhai. Both of these films' dialogues were written by K. S. Gopalakrishnan. The film was released on 16 July 1987. It was later remade in Telugu as Ramu (1987).
Yuga Purusha is an Indian 1989 Kannada-language film directed by D. Rajendra Babu. The film stars Ravichandran and Khushbu. It is a remake of Bollywood movie Karz. The music for the film was composed by Hamsalekha. The movie is about reincarnation, where a man is murdered by his newly wedded wife in his past life for the sake of acquiring the man's property. After taking a new birth, the man takes revenge against his past life's wife. Like other Ravichandran movies released during the late 80s period, this was also the musical blockbuster of the year.
Om, stylized as ॐ, is a 1995 Indian Kannada-language action crime film written and directed by Upendra. The film was produced by Parvathamma Rajkumar under the production company Sri Vajreshwari Combines. The film stars Shiva Rajkumar and Prema with Srishanthi, G. V. Shivanand, Sadhu Kokila in supporting roles with real-life gangsters - Bekkina Kannu Rajendra, Tanveer, Korangu Krishna and Jedaralli Krishnappa - portraying the role of gangsters in a small but important portion of the movie.
Anjada Gandu is a 1988 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film produced by B N Gangadhar under the banner of ANS Productions and written and directed by Renuka Sharma. The film stars Ravichandran Khushbu Devaraj and Rasi aliyas Shanthi in the lead roles along with Thoogudeepa Srinivas, Doddanna and Mukhyamantri Chandru in supporting roles. It is a remake of the 1984 Tamil film Thambikku Entha Ooru.
Annayya is a 1993 Indian Kannada-language drama film directed by D. Rajendra Babu. It is a remake of Hindi film Beta which itself was remade from K. Bhagyaraj's 1987 Tamil film Enga Chinna Rasa, whose story was inspired by the Kannada novel Ardhaangi by B. Puttaswamayya which had already been adapted in Kannada in 1969 as Mallammana Pavaada. The film features V. Ravichandran playing the title character along with Madhoo, Aruna Irani, Dheerendra Gopal and Srinath in other prominent roles. The music was composed by Hamsalekha. The film was produced by M. Chandrashekar. The film revolves around a battle of wits b/w a mother-in-law and a wife.
Putnanja is a 1995 Kannada language film directed by Ravichandran and produced by A. Narsimhan. This film stars Ravichandran, Meena, Umashri, Lokesh in lead roles. Music was composed by Hamsalekha. The film is based on the 1972 Tamil movie Pattikada Pattanama.
Shanti Kranti is a 1991 Indian action film produced and directed by V. Ravichandran under Eshwari Productions. The film stars Ravichandran and Juhi Chawla, alongside Ramesh Aravind, Khushbu Sundar, Anant Nag, Babu Antony, Y. Vijaya and Baby Sangita. It was simultaneously shot in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi and Tamil languages. Ravichandran was the main lead in Kannada, while he portrayed Ramesh Aravind's role in Tamil and Telugu. Nagarjuna played the lead role in Telugu, while Rajinikanth played the lead role in Hindi and Tamil, with the Tamil version titled Nattukku Oru Nallavan. The film became a box-office bomb in all languages.

Premada Kanike is a 1976 Indian Kannada-language crime thriller film directed by V. Somashekhar and written by the duo Salim–Javed. It was produced by Jayadevi under the banner of Jayadevi films. The film starred Rajkumar, Aarathi and Jayamala in lead roles with Vajramuni and Rajashankar in supporting roles. The plot follows a teacher hired by rich man to home-school his daughter. En route, she witnesses a murder and discovers that the murderer is the father of her student.
