St. Patrick's High School, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, is a Catholic high school publicly funded under the Ontario school system as part of the Ottawa Catholic School Board. It was founded in 1929 by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
In 1929, St. Patrick's College High School 135 students and 7 teachers were housed in St. Joseph Parish Hall, a two-storey, red brick hall on Laurier Avenue East in Ottawa. St. Patrick's High School has had a crest and motto since its founding in 1929. The school logo includes the name of the school, St. Patrick's High School, and the motto “Religio Alit Artes.” The armorial bearings of St. Patrick's High School in Ottawa was “entered in the Public Register of Arms, Flags and Badges of Canada” and presented to the school on Wednesday, March 6, 2002. In 1930, St. Patrick's College High School moved to join the new St. Patrick's College at a joint campus of 392 students and a faculty of 22 facing Echo Drive and the Rideau Canal. The Echo Drive facility housed the school for almost four decades. Masses were held in the college chapel until the church was built in 1931. From 1930- 1964, St. Patrick's College High School took in boarders from the Ottawa Valley area as well as from farther afield. [2]
The Patrician, the first St. Patrick's High School newspaper, was published in 1934. [3]
The Oblates’ active involvement in the administration of the school from 1929 came to an end in 1973. The names of 155 Oblates of Mary Immaculate in St. Peter's Province, who taught at St. Patrick's High School during the period 1929-1973 are engraved on a plaque that was mounted on an Oblate cross and presented to the students and staff of St. Patrick's High School on March 17, 1986. The school was renamed St. Jude's Junior High School for the 1972–73 school year. In 1973, the school was renamed St. Patrick's Junior High School because the higher grades were no longer accommodated. The school was renamed St. Patrick's High School, a full-fledged secondary school in 1986. St. Patrick's High School remained at the 1485 Heron Road site until 1993, when it moved to 2525 Alta Vista Drive, then the location of École Secondaire Charlebois of the French Public School Board. [5] During the 1993-94 school year, the building was shared by the two schools, after which Charlebois was closed and students transferred to other schools including De La Salle.
86 former students of St. Patrick's were killed in World War II. [6]
In 1968 St. Patrick's College became affiliated with Carleton University. St. Patrick's College High School relocated to the Campanile Campus at 1485 Heron Road, where St. Patrick's shared the location with Notre Dame High School, run by the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame. In 1968, the school change its name from St. Patrick's College High School to St. Patrick's High School.

In September 1989, the “St. Pat’s Fighting Irish” hit the field for the first time since 1975, defeating Laurentian High School in the process. The school celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2004. To mark the occasion, a video was produced by Roy Ketcheson. [7]
The student dress code at St. Patrick's High School consists of black dress pants, white dress shirt or polo shirt with the St. Patrick's name, green plaid kilt or black skirt, green sweat shirt with plaid letter “P,” green cardigan or pullover with St. Patrick's crest, green blazer with St. Pat's crest, green rugby shirt with St. Pat's and the letter “P.” St. Patrick's student ambassadors, who are senior students, wear green blazers with the school crest. Carleton Place is a town in Eastern Ontario, Canada, in Lanark County, about 46 kilometres (29 mi) west of downtown Ottawa. It is located at the crossroads of Highway 15 and Highway 7, halfway between the towns of Perth, Almonte, Smiths Falls, and the nation's capital, Ottawa. Canada's Mississippi River, a tributary of the Ottawa River flows through the town. Mississippi Lake is just upstream by boat, as well as by car.
Carleton University is an English-language public research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1942 as Carleton College, the institution originally operated as a private, non-denominational evening college to serve returning World War II veterans. Carleton was chartered as a university by the provincial government in 1952 through The Carleton University Act, which was then amended in 1957, giving the institution its current name. The university is named for the now-dissolved Carleton County, which included the city of Ottawa at the time the university was founded. Carleton County, in turn, was named in honour of Guy Carleton, 1st Baron Dorchester, who was Governor General of The Canadas from 1786 to 1796. The university moved to its current campus in 1959, growing rapidly in size during the 1960s as the Ontario government increased support for post-secondary institutions and expanded access to higher education.

The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) is a missionary religious congregation in the Catholic Church. It was founded on January 25, 1816, by Eugène de Mazenod, a French priest later recognized as a Catholic saint. The congregation was given recognition by Pope Leo XII on February 17, 1826. As of January 2020, the congregation was composed of 3,631 priests and lay brothers usually living in community. Their traditional salutation is Laudetur Iesus Christus, to which the response is Et Maria Immaculata. Members use the post-nominal letters, "OMI".
Saint Paul University is a bilingual Catholic Pontifical university federated with the University of Ottawa since 1965. It is located on Main Street in Canada's capital city, Ottawa, Ontario. Fully bilingual, it offers instruction in both of the country's official languages: French and English. The university has been entrusted for over a century and a half to the Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. In August 1866, the university was endowed a civil charter that was passed by the government which was then called the Province of Canada. Ashbury College is an independent day and boarding school located in the Rockcliffe Park area of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was originally founded in 1891 by former faculty of Bishop's College School in Quebec to accommodate BCS students living in Ottawa. Ashbury College moved to its current location in 1910. Previously, it occupied what now houses Senate of Canada offices. It is an International Baccalaureate World School, a member of the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools, and a member of Round Square. The school currently enrolls approximately 550 senior and 150 junior students. The current Head of School is Norman Southward, with Kendal Young directing the Junior School and Gary Godkin as the Head of Senior School.
St. Patrick's Catholic High School, frequently called St. Pat's, is a Catholic secondary school located in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. It is one of two secondary schools in the St. Clair Catholic District School Board, and the only one located in Sarnia. In 2013 the school was merged with St. Christopher's Secondary School resulting in a population of over 1300 students.
The Carleton Ravens football team represents Carleton University, which is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The Ravens play U Sports football in the Ontario University Athletics conference. The Ravens football program started in 1945 and was continuously in operation until 1998 when the program was disbanded. The football program was brought back to the university in 2011 and began play in 2013. The football team has won one conference championship, winning the Dunsmore Cup in 1985 while playing in the Ontario-Quebec Intercollegiate Football Conference.
