Tralee is the county town of County Kerry in the south-west of Ireland. The town is on the northern side of the neck of the Dingle Peninsula, and is the largest town in County Kerry. The town's population was 26,079 as of the 2022 census, making it the 15th largest urban settlement in Ireland. Tralee is known for the Rose of Tralee International Festival, which has been held annually in August since 1959.

Kieran Donaghy is an Irish Gaelic footballer and basketball player. He plays for Tralee club Austin Stacks and, formerly, at senior level for the Kerry county team. Donaghy won four All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals, eight Munster Championships and three National League titles with Kerry, and is the recipient of three All Stars Awards. He announced his retirement from inter-county football on 11 September 2018. Donaghy is also a long-time basketball player, currently playing for Tralee Warriors in the Irish Super League.
Séamus Moynihan is an Irish former Gaelic footballer from Shronedarraugh, a townland halfway between Barraduff and Glenflesk, County Kerry. He has played football for St Brendan's College, Glenflesk, East Kerry, University College Cork, Institute of Technology Tralee, Kerry Minor, U21 and Senior teams, Munster Railway Cup side and the Ireland international rules football team. He was a member of the Kerry Senior Football Panel from 1992 to 2006. He resides in Shronedarraugh with his wife Noreen, son Jamie and two daughters Clíona and Eve.

John O'Keeffe is a former Irish Gaelic footballer who played for the Austin Stacks club and at senior level for the Kerry county team between 1969 and 1984. He was a highly talented midfielder, and one of the most stylish and accomplished full-backs in Gaelic football history. He later became the Irish international rules team manager.

Paudie Sheehy (1932–1967) was an Irish amateur sportsperson and business executive. He played Gaelic football with John Mitchels and the Kerry county team from 1953 to 1962. He captained Kerry on two occasions. He was also a senior executive with the state-owned Irish Sugar and its affiliates, Erin Foods and Heinz-Erin Foods.
John Joseph Landers was an Irish Gaelic footballer, Gaelic games administrator and republican activist. His league and championship career at senior level for the Kerry county team spanned twelve years from 1927 to 1938. Landers has been described as "one of [Kerry']s greatest football legends".

Pa O'Sullivan was a Gaelic footballer from Killorglin, County Kerry. He played with Kerry at all levels during the 1990s. He was described as a 'star' and a 'teen sensation' for Kerry during the 90's.
Jackie (John) Ryan was an Irish Gaelic footballer who primarily played as a Half Forward as well as in the Full Forward line for the Kerry senior team between 1924 and 1934. Ryan won six All-Ireland Senior Football medals with Kerry over his ten-year career, and received favorable reviews.
