Stage Dolls is a Norwegian hard rock band based in Trondheim, Norway. [2]
In 1982, Erlend Antonsen and Terje Storli played at local clubs in and around Trondheim. In need of a guitarist they called on Torstein Flakne, who by then had finished playing in The Kids (a popular teeny-band in Norway 1980-82). Throughout the summer and fall of 1982 the newly formed band started rehearsing and playing shows in the region. The trio took the name Stage Dolls in January 1983. The first album, titled Soldier's Gun , was released in late 1985, [2] after a successful nationwide tour in Norway supporting the Norwegian band TNT.
Antonsen left the band in 1985 and was replaced by Steinar Krokstad; [2] he in turn left in 1993 and was replaced by Morten Skogstad.
The recordings for their next album Commandos started in late 1985. It peaked at number 8 in the Norwegian charts (VG) and set the band up as one of the most popular rock bands in Norway in 1986. The album was released in the US by Big Time Records and the title track "Commandos" gained considerable airplay on college-radio.
The self-titled third album was released in 1988. [2] It made it to number 3 at the charts in Norway, [3] and the single "Wings of Steel" went to number 10. [4] In 1989, the band released the album on Chrysalis Records for the American market. The single "Love Cries" went to number 46 on the Billboard Singles Charts the same year. [2] A second single for the song "Still in Love" was also released in America.
In 1991, the band released a fourth album called Stripped. The album went to number 5 in Norway, [5] and the single "Love Don't Bother Me" charted at number 3. [6] The music video for the song, featured English model Kate Moss. [7]
In 1995, Torstein Flakne released a solo album on Mercury Records in 1995 called Shoot the Moon.
Blood Red Throne are a Norwegian death metal band. They were formed in Kristiansand, Norway, during the peak of black metal in 1998 by former Satyricon guitarist Daniel «Død» Olaisen and Emperor bassist Terje «Tchort» Schei. Inspired by bands like Death, Cannibal Corpse and Deicide, Blood Red Throne play death metal in a Scandinavian style, mixing old school, traditional and Swedish death with groovy riffs and elements of black metal. The band has released 10 albums.

Thirteen musicians have been a part of the band's lineup in its history, with singer, guitarist, saxophonist, and songwriter Jørgen Munkeby as its leading force and only constant member. Torstein Flakne is a Norwegian singer and guitarist, best known for being the founder of the Norwegian rock band Stage Dolls. He is from Melhus and played in the band The Kids before founding Stage Dolls in 1985.
Sambandet is a Norwegian rock group and the backing band of Åge Aleksandersen. Almost always referred to in that capacity they combined are known as Åge Aleksandersen & Sambandet, and together they won the 1980 Spellemannprisen for Ramp as best rock album. The group's membership has varied throughout the years. Some of the members has been Steinar Krokstad, Skjalg Raaen, Terje Tranaas and Gunnar Pedersen. They recorded their first album in 1977 titled Lirekassa. Their most known hit is "Lys og varme" from 1984. The group had roots from Prudence. Sambandet broke up after the Eldorado touring in 1987 but reunited in 2004.
Soldier's Gun is the first studio album by the Norwegian hard rock band Stage Dolls. The album was recorded in the fall of 1984 at Nidaros Studios in Trondheim, Norway with the same producer, Bjørn Nessjø, and engineer, Rune Nordahl, as fellow Trondheim hard-rockers TNT. The album was released in the early winter of 1985 after a successful nationwide tour in Norway supporting the same TNT. Soldier's Gun barely made it onto the Norwegian album chart (VG) for one week as number 20. The album sold in excess of 20,000 copies in Norway.
Commandos is the second studio album by Norwegian hard rock band Stage Dolls, released in 1986 through Grappa Music (Norway) and in 1987 through Big Time Records. The album charted for eleven weeks, peaking at #8 on the Norwegian album charts (VG) and making the band one of the most popular rock groups in Norway at the time. Thanks to the album's U.S. release, the band also gained attention outside of Norway, with the title track gaining considerable airplay on college radio.
Forente Artister was a group of Norwegian artists that went together in 1985 to record the song Sammen for livet in order to raise money for the victims of hunger in Africa. The lyrics were written by Halvdan Sivertsen and the melody by Åge Aleksandersen. This project was inspired by Band Aid and Forente Artister was thus part of a large humanitarian initiative. The project resulted in an album which in addition to Sammen for livet also consisted of several newly recorded songs by some of the participators. The song and the project received a special award in the Spellemannsprisen 1985.

Spanish Steps is a song by the Norwegian singer Morten Harket, which was released in 1995 as the second single from his debut solo album Wild Seed. It was written by Torstein Flakne, Håvard Rem (lyrics) and Harket (lyrics), and produced by Christopher Neil. "Spanish Steps" reached No. 14 on the Norwegian VG-lista chart.
