A painted, fiberglass statue of Christopher Columbus was prominently installed for more than 30 years on public land in Columbus, Wisconsin, United States. Following public debate stemming from a petition initiated by a 15-year-old city resident, [1] the statue was removed and placed into storage in July 2020. [2] [3]
Columbus Circle is a neighborhood and plaza in the downtown section of Syracuse, New York, United States. At the center of the circle is a large fountain and the Columbus Monument, designed by the Syracuse-born architect Dwight James Baum and dedicated in 1934.
