Steadfast Networks is a Chicago, Illinois-based Internet Service Provider primarily focused on Cloud Computing, Dedicated Servers and Colocation. It is a division of Nozone, Inc., a company founded in 1998 by then high-school student Karl Zimmerman [2] in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and incorporated in 2000. [1] In 2008 it was named number 370 on the Inc 500 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America List [3] and was on the Inc 5000 List of the Largest Companies in America in both 2009 [4] and 2010. Steadfast currently has datacenter facilities in 3 locations: Two in downtown Chicago [6] and one in Edison, New Jersey. [7]

Steadfast has a private network with peering points throughout the United States along with London and Amsterdam. [8]

Controversy

In November 2007 the Chicago Tribune published an article on the hosting of hate sites in America, where they are protected by the First Amendment. The Anti-Defamation League noted that Steadfast hosted 17 such sites. [9] Steadfast responded on the official company blog to clarify that they are strong supporters of the First Amendment, but against hate speech. [10]

Gab (social network) Social media website known for its mainly far-right user base

Gab is an American alt-tech social networking service known for its far-right userbase. Widely described as a haven for extremists including neo-Nazis, white supremacists, white nationalists, the alt-right, and QAnon conspiracy theorists, it has attracted users and groups who have been banned from other social media and users seeking alternatives to mainstream social media platforms. Gab says it promotes free speech, individual liberty, and "the free flow of information online", though these statements have been criticized as being a shield for its alt-right and extremist ecosystem. Antisemitism is prominent in the site's content, and the company itself has engaged in antisemitic commentary on Twitter. Researchers note that Gab has been "repeatedly linked to radicalization leading to real-world violent events".

BitChute is a video hosting service known for accommodating far-right individuals and conspiracy theorists, and for hosting hateful content. The platform was created in 2017 to allow video uploaders to avoid content rules enforcement on YouTube, and some creators who have been banned from YouTube or had their channels barred from receiving advertising revenue ("demonetised") have migrated to BitChute.
