Preissner's first acting role was in Enda Walsh's Chatroom.[3]
Preissner wrote and starred in Our Father and Solpadeine is my Boyfriend a one-woman show for the Dublin Fringe Festival, and she toured it internationally.[1][6][7] The show was recreated for RTÉ Radio Drama on One.[1] The podcast of this version is the most downloaded of all podcasts from RTÉ.[1] Preissner created a series of documentaries entitled How To Adult for the RTÉ Player.[7][3][8]
Preissner's first book Why can't everything just stay the same?: and other things I shout when I can't cope is a collection of poetry and prose.[7][3][9] It was published in 2017.[9][10][11] Her second book Can I Say No?: One Woman's Battle with a Small Word was published in 2019.[12][13]
In 2017, Preissner was developing a screenplaycloserthanthis (sic) for Brooklyn producers Parallel Films.[7][3] She was also developing a TV pilot with Channel 4.[7][3]
In 2020, Preissner started a podcast called "Basically" from HeadStuff Podcast Network.
In 2024, Preissner is credited as a writer on TV Series Faithless[14] and the upcoming The Walsh Sisters based on the novels by Marian Keyes.[15] Preissner is also playing the role of Maggie in the series.[16]
In October 2021, Preissner revealed that she was diagnosed with autism in 2021.[25] She is married to Noel Byrne,[26] and has two children.[27]
Preissner had once stated on RTE, Irelands national broadcaster, that if ‘she did not stop drinking alcohol, she would never have her own television show’. As of November 2025, Preissner has since, never been offered any shows of her own. In early 2025 however, she was cast in a supporting role for Marian Keynes ‘The Walsh Sisters’.
