Stefano Mazzoli (born 27 December 1996) is an Italian professional golfer who currently plays on the Asian Tour. He won the 2015 European Amateur and was runner-up at the 2024 Open de Portugal on the Challenge Tour. He was also awarded Asian Tour Rookie of the Year in 2024. [1]
Mazzoli won the 2014 European Boys' Team Championship in Norway with a team that included Guido Migliozzi and Renato Paratore. [2] He also won a medal at the 2017 European Amateur Team Championship in Austria, after Italy beat Sweden 4–3 in the bronze match. [3] He represented Europe in the Jacques Léglise Trophy, St Andrews Trophy and Bonallack Trophy.
In 2015, he won the European Amateur in Slovakia by one stroke over Gary Hurley of Ireland, which earned him a start at the 2016 Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club. [4]
Mazzoli attended Texas Christian University from 2015 to 2019. Playing with the TCU Horned Frogs men's golf team he won four times and was named All-American and Jack Nicklaus Award semifinalist. [5] He played in the 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup where he won his mixed foursomes match with Dewi Weber 1 up against Andrea Lee and Collin Morikawa. [6]
Mazzoli turned professional in 2019 and joined the Challenge Tour. He spent the next few season on the Alps Tour, narrowly missing out on promotion. In 2022, he captured his third win on the tour and earned promotion to the 2023 Challenge Tour via the rankings. In 2024, he was runner-up at the Open de Portugal, a stroke behind Matt Oshrine. [7]
In 2024, Mazzoli joined the Asian Tour and was named Asian Tour Rookie of the Year after several top-10 finishes, including a T-5 at the International Series Morocco and a T-6 at the Hong Kong Open. [1] [8] [9]
