Stephanie Judith Power (born 19 April 1957) is a Trinidadian former cricketer who played as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batter West Indies cricketer. She appeared in one Test match and 34 One Day Internationals for the West Indies between 1993 and 2005,and captained the side between 2003 and 2005. She played domestic cricket for Trinidad and Tobago. [1] [2]
She also served as a member of the board of director for Copos Credit Union. In October 2015,she was inducted to the US Cricket Hall of Fame and became the first female inductee as well as first female international cricketer to be inducted to the US Cricket Hall of Fame. [3]
Stephanie started playing cricket since the age of eight while pursuing her primary education at the Hokett Baptist Primary School. During her childhood,she was considered as a tomboy. She also played for the girls' school team when she was studying at the St. Francis Girls' College. She is divorced and has one child. She teaches physical education at the San Juan North Secondary School for about 37 years. [3] She also took a three year break from cricket after giving birth to his only son Stephan in 1986. She received the honorary prestigious membership of the Atlantis Cricket Club in New York. [4]
Stephanie was picked in the West Indies squad for the 1993 Women's Cricket World Cup as a second choice wicketkeeper. She subsequently made her WODI debut against Australia on 24 July 1993 during the World Cup tournament replacing first-choice wicketkeeper who was injured after the first match of the tournament. [5] She became the captain of West Indies cricket team in 2003 at the age of 46 and became the oldest ever international captain on captaincy debut in any format. [6] She captained the side in the 2003 World Cup qualifiers and under her captaincy West Indies emerged as runners-up to Ireland during the tournament. Subsequently,West Indies had also qualified for the 2005 Women's Cricket World Cup after missing out on 2000 Women's Cricket World Cup.
She made her test debut on 15 March 2004 in a one-off test match against Pakistan in Karachi at the age of 46 years and 334 days. [7] She became the oldest ever player to feature in a women's test match. [8] She subsequently captained the side on her test debut and went onto become the oldest ever woman to make her captaincy debut in a women's test match. [9] She went onto register her maiden test fifty on her debut and since then she had never played another test match in her career.
She captained the West Indies national team for the first time in a World Cup tournament during the 2005 edition at the age of 47,which also marked her final World Cup tournament for West Indies in international cricket. Under her captaincy,West Indies finished at fifth place and she retired from international cricket after the 2005 World Cup. In 2006,she retired as the captain of Trinidad and Tobago team from domestic cricket. [10]
Stephanie Power is the oldest player to play in WODI history when she achieved it during the 2005 World Cup match against hosts South Africa which was also incidentally her last ever international appearance for the West Indies (at the age of 47 years 355 days) and also became the oldest ever player to have appeared in a One Day International being either male or female surpassing the previous record of 47 years and 257 days held by Nolan Clarke. She held the world record for being the oldest ever woman cricketer to have appeared in international cricket for 13 years until being surpassed by Caroline de Fouw of Netherlands who returned to Dutch national side after 10 years at the age of 52 during a match against the United Arab Emirates as part of the 2018 ICC Women's T20 World Cup qualifier. She is a certified Level II qualified coach and trainer for Level I and Level II coaches.
She had coaching stints in Trinidad and Tobago,Bermuda,Fort Lauderdale and New Jersey in 2008 and then in the United States of America in 2009. She has also conducted numerous coaching education programs in USA,Canada and in the Caribbean.
In 2009,she was appointed by the West Indies Women's Cricket Federation as the assistant coach of the West Indies women's cricket team for which Sherwin Campbell served as the head coach. [10] [15]
In August 2018,she also coached the Secondary Schools Cricket League girls' team in a tour of Canada. [16] [17]
She became the first and only female cricket trainer/tutor in the Americas region of the International Cricket Council.
Brian Charles Lara,is a Trinidadian former international cricketer,widely acknowledged as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He holds several cricketing records,including the record for the highest individual score in first-class cricket,with 501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham at Edgbaston in 1994,and the record for the highest individual score in an international Test innings,after scoring 400 not out at Antigua during the 4th test against England in 2004.
Philip Verant Simmons is a Trinidadian cricket coach and former player. He played international cricket for the West Indies from 1987 to 1999 as an opening batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler. He excelled in the One Day International (ODI) format and represented the West Indies at three Cricket World Cups.
Augustine Lawrence Logie,commonly known as Gus Logie,is a former West Indies and Trinidad and Tobago cricketer and is currently an international cricket coach. He coached the West Indies to win the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy,the first major world cricket title the team won since winning the 1979 Cricket World Cup. He was a part of the West Indian squad which finished as runners-up at the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
Charlotte Marie Edwards is an English former cricketer and current cricket coach and commentator. She played primarily as a right-handed batter. She appeared in 23 Test matches,191 One Day Internationals and 95 Twenty20 Internationals for England between 1996 and 2016. She played domestic cricket in England for East Anglia,Kent,Hampshire and Southern Vipers,as well as overseas for Northern Districts,Western Australia,Perth Scorchers,South Australia and Adelaide Strikers.
Daren Ganga is a former Trinidadian cricketer. He was a right-handed top order batsman and part-time right-arm off spinner. He was named the 2006 West Indies Players' Association 'Test player of the year',Ganga captained the Windies' youth,A and senior teams together with Trinidad and Tobago. Ganga is also the most successful captain ever,with four titles,in West Indian List A tournaments.
Jeffrey Baxter Stollmeyer was a Trinidad and Tobago cricketer who played as an opening batsman. He played 32 Test matches for the West Indies,captaining 13 of these. He was also a senator.
Nadine Andrea Julietta George MBE is a Jamaican former cricketer who played as a left-handed batter and wicket-keeper. She appeared in 1 Test match,41 One Day Internationals and 3 Twenty20 Internationals for the West Indies between 2003 and 2008. She was the first West Indian woman cricketer to score a hundred in a Test match,scoring 118 on Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi in the third innings of the only Test on the tour. George was awarded an MBE for her contributions to sport. She played domestic cricket for Saint Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.

Darren Michael Bravo is a Trinidadian cricketer who plays international cricket for the West Indies. A left-handed batsman,his batting style has drawn comparisons with Brian Lara. Bravo is the younger half brother of fellow West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo and his mother is the first cousin of former cricketer Brian Lara. Bravo was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2012 T20 World Cup.
Shannon Terry Gabriel is a Trinidadian cricketer who internationally plays cricket for West Indies cricket team. He is a fast bowler. He quickly became a key member of the Trinidad and Tobago attack after his debut in 2010. Following a neck injury to Ravi Rampaul,which forced him out of the match,Gabriel made his Test match debut for West Indies in May 2012,against England at Lord's. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut on 21 June 2016 against Australia. He is the first player to bat at No.12 in a Test match.
Anisa Mohammed is a Trinidadian cricketer who plays for Trinidad and Tobago,Trinbago Knight Riders and the West Indies. She plays as a right-arm off spin bowler. Since her international debut at 15 years of age she has played in 122 One Day International (WODI) and 111 Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches. Mohammed was the first cricketer,male or female,to take 100 wickets in T20Is. In WODIs,she is currently fifth on the all-time dismissals list with 151 wickets to her name. She was also the first bowler for the West Indies to take 100 wickets in WODIs,and the first for the West Indies to take a hat-trick in a Women's Twenty20 International match.
Nicholas Pooran is a Trinidadian cricketer who currently plays for the West Indies cricket team in limited overs cricket,and he is an occasional captain of the limited overs formats. He also plays for Trinidad and Tobago in West Indian domestic matches and for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL. He made his international debut for the West Indies in September 2016. In May 2022,Pooran was named as the captain of the West Indies team for limited overs cricket. In November 2022,he stepped down as the limited overs captain of the West Indies team.
Shane Omari Dowrich is a former Barbadian international cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper. He has featured for the West Indies,Barbados along with CPL teams St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Barbados Tridents in his cricketing career. Dowrich is also the current captain of the Barbados' first class side.
