Stephen Patrick McNally (born 4 July 1978) [1] is an English singer and songwriter, best known for his work with BBMak.
McNally began playing guitar in 1990 and had occasional lessons from Cast lead guitarist Liam Tyson. He then formed his first band, The Mist, with some high school friends and started writing songs.
From 1996 to 2003, McNally was a singer and lead guitarist of English pop rock band BBMak, along with Mark Barry and Christian Burns. Together they sold over three million albums worldwide. Their biggest single, "Back Here", was #1 in the US and across Asia.
In 2003 after BBMAK split, McNally began writing songs for a solo album with Ricky Ross, Karl Wallinger, and The Real People members Tony and Chris Griffiths. The following year, McNally began recording a solo album in France with record producer James Sanger and drummer Ash Soan but abandoned the project later that year.
In 2006, McNally formed covers band Groove Nation with friend and Broadway drummer Darren Andrews. That same year, McNally was contacted by former manager Diane Young about potentially becoming a vocalist with Mike and the Mechanics.
In 2007, McNally entered the fourth series of The X Factor.
In 2009, McNally became the lead singer for the band 10 Reasons to Live. [2]
In 2015, was a vocal/guitar coach for Jake McKechnie who in 2017 was a finalist on the first series of The Voice Kids.
In 2018, BBMak officially reformed to work on a new album and tour.
In 2020, McNally formed the band The Last Arcade [3] with his writing and producing partners from Firebox productions, [4] Paul Garrett and Steve Erickson.
Asia are an English rock supergroup formed in London in 1981. The most commercially successful lineup was its original, which consisted of four members of different progressive rock bands who had enjoyed great success in the 1970s: lead vocalist and bassist John Wetton, guitarist Steve Howe (Yes), keyboardist Geoff Downes and drummer Carl Palmer. Their debut album, Asia, released in 1982, remains their best-selling album and went to number one in several countries. Billboard listed it as the top album in the U.S. in 1982. The lead single from the album, "Heat of the Moment", remains their top charting and best-known song, reaching the top 40 in over a dozen markets. It peaked at #4 in the U.S. on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
The Moody Blues were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in May 1964. The band initially consisted of Graeme Edge (drums), Denny Laine (guitar/vocals), Mike Pinder (keyboards/vocals), Ray Thomas (multi-instrumentalist/vocals), and Clint Warwick (bass/vocals). Originally part of the British beat and R&B scene of the early–mid 1960s, the band came to prominence with the UK No. 1 and US Top 10 single "Go Now" in late 1964/early 1965. Laine and Warwick both left the band in 1966, with Edge, Pinder and Thomas recruiting new members Justin Hayward (guitar/vocals) and John Lodge (bass/vocals). Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is an American rock band from San Francisco, California. The group originally consisted of Peter Hayes, Robert Levon Been, and Nick Jago (drums). Jago departed the band in 2008 and was replaced by Leah Shapiro.

BBMak are a British band consisting of Mark Barry, Christian Burns and Stephen McNally. Formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1996, they sold over three million albums worldwide between 1999 and 2003. The band first achieved success when their single "Back Here" gained popularity in radio stations in Asia and they later signed with Hollywood Records in the U.S. The band reworked their debut album Sooner or Later for an American release in 2000, and the album charted at number 38 on the Billboard 200 chart with "Back Here" becoming a top 20 hit. BBMak's success in the American market helped the band finally break through in their home country.
Phillip Carden Thornalley is an English songwriter, musician, and producer who has worked in the music industry since 1978. He produced the album Pornography by The Cure and was later their bass player. He began releasing his own music in 1988 and briefly joined the band Johnny Hates Jazz. In later years he worked principally as a songwriter, and is perhaps best known for co-writing the song "Torn" and for writing two UK number one hits for Pixie Lott. Starting in the 2010s he released more solo music under his own name and as Astral Drive.
Christian Anthony Burns is an English singer. He is the son of Tony Burns of the Signs, a Liverpool-based rock band signed to Decca Records in the 1960s.
Sooner or Later is the debut studio album by English pop group BBMak, released on 16 May 2000 through Telstar and Hollywood Records. It was re-released in the United Kingdom the following year, peaking at number 16 in the UK charts. The album peaked at number 38 on the US Billboard 200, producing three hit singles, and was certified gold.

The Script are an Irish rock band formed in 2001 in Dublin, Ireland. The band currently consists of Danny O'Donoghue, Glen Power, Benjamin Sargent and Ben Weaver (guitar). Mark Sheehan was a member of the band up until his death in 2023. The band moved to London after signing to Sony Label Group imprint Phonogenic and released their first album The Script in August 2008, preceded by the debut single "We Cry" as well as other singles such as "The Man Who Can't Be Moved", "Breakeven" and "Before the Worst". The album peaked at number one in both Ireland and the UK. Their next three albums, Science & Faith (2010), #3 (2012) and No Sound Without Silence (2014), all topped the album charts in Ireland and the UK, while Science & Faith reached number two in Australia and number three in the United States.
