Stephen Graves (born 7 April 1964) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left wing. He played 35 games in the National Hockey League with the Edmonton Oilers between 1983 and 1988.

Playing career

He began his junior career with the Ottawa Jr. Senators of the CCHL and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the OHL before being selected in the second round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, 41st overall, by the Edmonton Oilers. In 1984, he was named to the OHL Third All-Star Team, and played his first two NHL games for the Oilers as a 19-year-old. Known for his exceptional skating abilities and speed he would play parts of two more seasons in the NHL, and spent the balance of his career in the minors or in Europe. Graves played over 750 games as a Junior and Professional.

Graves was a standout with the Canadian National Team over a couple of seasons and led the team in scoring at the Izvestia Tournament in Moscow with 5 goals and 6 points after only 3 games while on loan from his Finnish Club Team, HC TPS. His other clubs included HC Ajoie, the New Haven Nighthawks, the Phoenix Roadrunners, and HC Asiago. Graves retired after the 1992–93 season, settling in Sault Ste. Marie to work in finance with Dundee Private Investors Inc. [1] [2]

Personal life

Graves was born in Trenton, Ontario and grew up in Ottawa. [2] He is of Irish descent. [3] He has two kids, Alexandra "Alexa", and Keara Graves who is gender-fluid. [4]

Michael Patrick Stapleton is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played fourteen seasons in the National Hockey League from 1986 until 2001. Throughout his career Stapleton played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, Atlanta Thrashers, New York Islanders and Vancouver Canucks. After leaving the NHL he spent several years playing in Europe, retiring in 2004. The son of former NHL player Pat Stapleton, he also played internationally for Canada at the 1986 World Junior Championships, winning a silver medal. After his playing career ended Stapleton served as a coach and since 2014 has been a scout with the Anaheim Ducks.

Denny Lambert is a former professional Canadian ice hockey player and member of the Batchewana First Nation. Lambert was drafted in the Ontario Hockey League where he played for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for three years. He then played 2 seasons in the International Hockey League with the San Diego Gulls before signing as a free agent with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim of the National hockey league. He was then signed as a free agent with the Ottawa Senators in July 1996 and went on to play for the Nashville Predators (1998-1999) and the Atlanta Thrashers. He rejoined the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (2001-2002) for his final NHL season before finishing off his career in the American Hockey League with the Milwaukee Admirals. He also coached the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League from 2008–2011. He went on to be a First Nations Police Officer with the Anishinabek Police Service. Denny graduated from the Ontario Police College in November 2012. He was hired as an associate coach by the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL in 2016.

The 2007–08 OHL season was the 28th season of the Ontario Hockey League. Twenty teams played 68 games each during the schedule, that started on September 19, 2007, and concluded on March 16, 2008. The Mississauga IceDogs relocated to the Gatorade Garden City Complex in downtown St. Catharines after getting approval of the team's sale to Bill Burke by the Board of Governors on June 5, 2007. The team was renamed the Niagara IceDogs. The Toronto St. Michael's Majors replaced the IceDogs in the Hershey Centre, renaming themselves, the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. The Kingston Frontenacs moved late-season from the Kingston Memorial Centre to the new K-Rock Centre, which opened on February 22, 2008. On the afternoon of February 18, 2008, Windsor Spitfires team captain Mickey Renaud died after collapsing at his home, at age 19, of the rare heart condition hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Fred Perlini is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL) in the eighth round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, for whom he eventually played eight games.

Bill LaForge was a Canadian ice hockey head coach. LaForge briefly coached the Vancouver Canucks in National Hockey League, but enjoyed more success in junior ice hockey with Western Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey League teams. LaForge was known for his controversial coaching style, intimidation tactics, on-ice brawls, suspensions and fines. Teams he coached were known for physical play, and high scoring. Notable players coached by LaForge in junior ice hockey include; Shayne Corson, Keith Primeau, Dean Evason, Gary Leeman, Tony Tanti, Brad May, Ken Daneyko, Doug Bodger, Garth Butcher, and Rob Brown. LaForge died June 19, 2005, after an apparent heart attack.

Chadwick Paul Penney is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. A career minor leaguer, Penney played three games in the National Hockey League for the Ottawa Senators during the 1993–94 season. Penney was highly regarded by many as the future left winger to Alexei Yashin after being drafted. Despite impressive numbers with the OHL's North Bay Centennials and later with the AHL's Prince Edward Island Senators, Penney was never to realize his potential at the NHL level. He is the second player from Labrador to play in the NHL. Dan LaCosta, Pascal Pelletier, and Darryl Williams are the only other three players from Labrador to make it to the NHL. Penney was born in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Martin Tůma is a Czech professional ice hockey defenceman who last played for the Danbury Hat Tricks of the Federal Prospects Hockey League. He was selected by the Florida Panthers in the 5th round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Nail Railovich Yakupov is a Russian professional ice hockey forward for Avangard Omsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He was selected first overall by the Edmonton Oilers at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and also played with the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche. Due to his draft position, short NHL career and low point totals, Yakupov is widely regarded as one of the biggest draft busts in NHL history.
