Steve Jenkner (born 31 May 1976 in Lichtenstein) is a German former professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He had his best year in 2002 when he finished the year in fifth place in the 125cc world championship. [1]
Jenkner made his Grand Prix motorcycle racing debut as a wild card in his home Grand Prix in Germany, failing to finish the race and be classified.
His first full season came in 1997, riding an Aprilia. Jenkner scored points in six races, most notably a 7th place in Brno, finishing with a total of 20 points in the season, and 19th in the standings.
In 1998, Jenkner would again be riding an Aprilia, and improved a bit from prior season. He finished in the points nine times, four times inside the top-10, with a 7th place at Le Castellet, an 8th place at Sachsenring, a 9th place at Assen, and a 10th place in Madrid. He finished 17th in the rider's championship, with 45 points.
In his final season with Aprilia, Jenkner finished the 1999 season with nine point-scoring finishes, a 10th place in Asutralia, an 8th place in France, two 7th places in Brno and Imola, and a career best finish of 5th in Valencia, ending his season 15th in the rider's championship, with 52 points.
Making small steps forward, Jenkner would improve again in the 2000 season, having eleven point-scoring finishes, seven top-tens, including a 6th place in South Africa, and a 4th place in Mugello. He finished the year 12th in the overall standings, with 74 points.
Returning to Aprilia for the 2001 season, Jenkner would finally taste the champagne on the podium, finishing 3rd in Assen, and Brno as well, ending a successful campaign in 11th overall, with 94 points.
Staying with the UGT 3000 Abruzzo Aprilia team for the 2002 season, Jenkner would have the best year of his career yet, finishing on the podium five times, all five being 3rd places, at Jerez, Barcelona, the Sachsenring, Estoril, and Motegi. He finished the season 5th in the rider's championship, with 168 points.
Jenkner started the 2003 season like a dream, a 3rd place in Suzuka, a 3rd place in Phakisa, and a 2nd place in Jerez, meant three consecutive podiums, and a chance at the title. He retired in Mugello, and finished in 4th in Barcelona, before finally achieving his maiden 125cc victory in the 2003 Dutch TT, in Assen. However, following his victory, Jenkner retired from four consecutive races, ending his title hopes. He finished off the season well, with a 3rd place in Australia, and a 2nd place in Valencia, but the six retirements were too many, and he finished the year 6th in the rider's championship, with 151 points.
Partnering Marco Simoncelli in 2004, this would be Jenkner's final season in the 125cc category. In the second race of the season in Jerez, he would finish second, and in the fourth race of the season in Mugello, he would achieve his first pole position, but finished the race in 7th only. He was a solid points finisher, but did not have another podium, finishing the year 8th in the standings, with 122 points.
Graduating to the intermediate category for the final season of Jenkner's career, he would race with Nocable.it Race Aprilia team, and struggle with the bigger bikes. He failed to score a single point in the first 8 races of the season, eventually finding a rhythm late on in the season, with six straight points finishes in Germany, Czechia, Japan, Malaysia, Qatar, and Australia. His 12th place in Japan was his best of the year, ultimately finishing his professional racing career 23rd in the standings, with 13 points.

Bradley Smith is a British occasional motorcycle racer who was contracted to Aprilia Racing Team Gresini as a development/test/replacement rider in the MotoGP class of the World Championship.
Gábor Talmácsi is a Hungarian former professional motorcycle racer. He was the 2007 125cc World Champion, and he is the first and only Hungarian to win a road racing World Championship. He has a younger brother, Gergő, who is also a motorcycle racer. Due to a leg injury suffered in 2013, Talmácsi has retired from racing professionally. After retiring from racing, he set up his own team Talmácsi Racing, which competed in the European Superstock 600 Championship and raced with Honda CBR600RRs, until the series folded at the end of 2015.
Anthony "Ant" Keith West,, is an Australian motorcycle road racer. He most recently raced in the 2019 Brazilian Superbike Championship for the Kawasaki Racing Team. West was suspended from participating at any FIM sanctioned events for 24 months due to testing positive for banned substances from July 8th 2018 to September 14th 2020. In 2018 he competed in the Supersport World Championship, aboard a Kawasaki ZX-6R and in the Asia Road Race SS600 Championship, aboard a Yamaha YZF-R6.
Andrea Dovizioso is an Italian professional motorcycle racer who is the 2004 125 cc World Champion. He is best known for his time with the Ducati Team in the MotoGP class, finishing championship runner-up to Marc Marquez for three consecutive seasons in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Dovizioso is one of the most successful modern MotoGP riders with 15 MotoGP victories and 62 podiums. He races for WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team for the 2022 season.

Alessandro "Sandro" Cortese is a German motorcycle racer, who last competed in 2020 World Superbike Championship for Team Pedercini. Cortese won his first world title in the Moto3 class, in 2012., and his second in the Supersport World Championship, in 2018. He lives in Berkheim, Germany.
Andrea Iannone is an Italian professional motorcycle racer who competed in the MotoGP World Championship from 2013 to 2019. Iannone is a race winner in MotoGP, Moto2 and 125 cc World Championships.
Stefan Bradl is a German professional motorcycle racer. Bradl is best known for winning the 2011 Moto2 World Championship. Then he made the move to MotoGP in 2012 with LCR Honda. While with MotoGP Bradl is best known for his performance in Laguna Seca in 2013 getting the pole position and finishing second in the race behind Marc Marquez and ahead of Valentino Rossi. Bradl finished the 2013 season 7th despite missing two races due to injury. This proved to be his highest ever MotoGP finish.
Marc Márquez Alentà is a Spanish professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, who has raced for Honda's factory team since his MotoGP debut in 2013. Born in Cervera, Catalonia, Spain, he is nicknamed the 'Ant of Cervera' worldwide, and 'el tro de Cervera' in his hometown, meaning the 'Thunder of Cervera'. He is one of four riders to have won world championship titles in three different categories, after Mike Hailwood, Phil Read and Valentino Rossi, and is one of the most successful motorcycle racers of all time, with eight Grand Prix World Championships to his name, six of which are in the premier class. Márquez became the third Spaniard after Àlex Crivillé and Jorge Lorenzo to win the premier class title, and is the most successful Spanish rider in MotoGP to date, with 59 wins. In 2013 he became the first rider since Kenny Roberts in 1978 to win the premier class title in his first season, and the youngest to win the title overall, at 20 years and 266 days of age.
Takaaki Nakagami is a Grand Prix motorcycle racer from Japan, who currently rides for LCR Honda Idemitsu in MotoGP. He won the Japanese Road Race Championship 125cc class in 2006 and J-GP2 class in 2011.
Luis Jaime Salom Horrach was a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer. Salom died after a practice accident at Circuit de Catalunya, when making contact with his bike and the wall after a high-speed accident. Racing in the Moto2 class since 2014, he finished 41 races, with 3 podium appearances, including a second-place finish at the 2016 Qatar season opener. At the time of his death, Salom ranked 10th in the 2016 Moto2 Championship point standings. Previously he had competed in Moto3, accumulating nine race victories, finishing 2nd and 3rd in the 2012 and 2013 championships, respectively.
Jack Peter Miller is an Australian Grand Prix motorcycle racer who rides for the factory Ducati Team in MotoGP. Miller has won three races in the premier class, his first at the 2016 Dutch TT on a Marc VDS Honda, his second and third in consecutive weekends of May 2021, at Jerez, Spain, and Le Mans, France on a Ducati, and has finished as the championship runner-up in the 2014 Moto3 World Championship.
Brad Binder is a South African Grand Prix motorcycle racer. He was also known for winning the 2016 Moto3 World Championship. In November 2019 he was confirmed as a factory KTM rider in MotoGP class for the 2020 season, replacing Johann Zarco who had abandoned his factory ride earlier in the year.
Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia is an Italian motorcycle racer competing in MotoGP for the Ducati Lenovo Team. Bagnaia is best known for becoming the 2018 Moto2 World Champion, after winning 8 races during the season. He became just the second rider from the VR46 academy to win a world title after Franco Morbidelli in 2017.
The 2014 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup season was the eighth season of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. After pre-season testing at Ciudad del Motor de Aragón, the season began at Jerez on 3 May and ended on 28 September at the Ciudad del Motor de Aragón after 14 races. The races, for the second year contested by the riders on equal KTM 250cc 4-stroke Moto3 bikes, were held at eight meetings on the Grand Prix motorcycle racing calendar.
