Stokely railway station

Stokely railway station was located on the South Western Railway, Western Australia in the suburb of Maddington. It was served by Armadale Line services which are part of the Transperth network.

History

On 13 July 1932, a train collided with a car at the Albany Highway level crossing three people were killed. [1]

Stokely station opened on 28 November 1954 as part of the switch from steam power to diesel power on the Perth suburban rail network. [2]

The station was closed on 16 April 1989 due to low patronage and the electrification of the suburban network requiring greater distances between stations. [3]

Platforms & services

Stokely consisted of two staggered platforms on either side of the Albany Highway and was served by trains on the Armadale line.
