Sunset Hill is a mountain in the Central New York Region of New York. It is located in the towns of Richfield and Warren, north of Richfield Springs. It was formally called Abbott's Hill, as it was the site of Aaron Abbott's home and also Butternut Hill, from the big butternut trees that once stood on the hill. [2]

Moodna Creek is a small tributary of the Hudson River that drains eastern Orange County, New York. At 15.5 miles (25 km) in length from its source at the confluence of Cromline Creek and Otter Kill west of Washingtonville, it is the longest stream located entirely within the county.

The 1988–89 NBA season was the Bulls' 23rd season in the National Basketball Association. The Bulls finished fifth in the Central Division with a 47–35 record. Michael Jordan led the league in scoring with 32.5 points per game, and was selected for the 1989 NBA All-Star Game. In the first round of the playoffs, the Bulls defeated the 3rd-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers in five games, and the New York Knicks in six games in the semifinals. However, they would lose to the Detroit Pistons four games to two in the Eastern Conference Finals. Following the season, Doug Collins was fired as head coach.

121st New York Volunteer Infantry

The 121st Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry, commonly known as the "Onesers" or "Upton's Regulars", was a volunteer regiment recruited during the American Civil War from Otsego County and Herkimer County, New York. The Hon. Richard Franchot was appointed colonel of the regiment and authorized to establish his headquarters at Richfield Springs, Otsego County. He proceeded without delay to organize the regiment, and on August 23, 1862, the regiment was mustered into the service of the Union Army. The command at that time consisted of 39 officers and 946 enlisted men. The 121st Regiment proceeded to Washington, arriving there on the morning of September 3, and was assigned provisionally to a brigade under Colonel Gibson with headquarters at Fort Lincoln.

Sunset Hill (Warren, New York) United States historic place

Sunset Hill, also known as Mrs. Eugene D. Stocker Estate, is a historic home complex located just north of the Village of Richfield Springs in the Town of Warren in Herkimer County, New York. The contributing elements consist of the main house, guest house, equipment barn, stable, stone entrance gate, swimming pool, and garden. The main house was built in 1923 and is a two-story, gable roofed, wood frame Colonial Revival style building sheathed in clapboard siding with a wood shingle roof. It features a tall portico with square columns and a triangular pediment. The complex was designed by Dwight James Baum (1886–1939) as a seasonal estate for Mrs. Eugene D. Stocker.

Honeynut squash Miniature winter squash

Honeynut squash is a winter squash cultivar bred from butternut and buttercup squash. It has a similar shape and flavor to butternut squash but averages about half the size and is significantly sweeter. It has dark tan to orange skin and orange fleshy pulp. When ripe, it turns from green to a deep orange and becomes sweeter and richer. It has two to three times more beta-carotene than butternut squash. Although technically a fruit, honeynut squash is used as a vegetable that can be roasted, sautéed, puréed, added to soups, stews, and braises, and is suitably sweet for desserts.
