Ogun State is a state in southwestern Nigeria. As a Nigerian state,Ogun is the second most industrialised state after Lagos,with a focus on metal processing. It has good road and rail connections to the harbours in Lagos and Lekki. Wole Soyinka,winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature 1986,lives in Ogun.

The Ẹgbado,now Yewa,are a subgroup of the Yoruba people and mostly inhabit the eastern area of Ogun West Senatorial District,Ogun State,in south-west Nigeria,Africa. In 1995,the group's name was changed to Yewa after the Yewa River,the river (odo) they foraged towards. The name of this river is derived from the Yoruba goddess Yewa. Yewa/Ẹgbado mainly occupy four Local Government Areas in Ogun State,Yewa South,Yewa North,Imeko-Afon,and Ipokia,while the Ado-Odo/Ota LGA forms the fifth Awori part of the senatorial district. Other Yewa/Ẹgbado are located in Lagos West,Lagos East,Oyo North,and Oyo South senatorial zones.
Gbenga Daniel is a Nigerian politician who served as Senator for Ogun East since 2023. He previously served as governor of Ogun State from 2003 to 2011.
Adetunji Idowu Ishola Olurin mni was a Nigerian general who served as the military Governor of Oyo State from 1985 to 1988 and Field Commander of ECOMOG Peacekeeping Force in Liberia from 1992 to 1993 during the First Liberian Civil War. Olurin retired from service in 1993,and was a member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He was administrator of Ekiti State from 19 October 2006 until 27 April 2007.

The 2015 Ogun State gubernatorial election occurred on 11 April 2015. Incumbent Governor APC's Ibikunle Amosun won election for a second term,defeating PDP's Adegboyega Isiaka and several minor party candidates. Amosun received 60.38% of the vote.
The 2023 Ogun State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023,to elect the Governor of Ogun State,concurrent with elections to the Ogun State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Dapo Abiodun was eligible to run for re-election.
The 2023 Nigerian House of Representatives elections were held on 25 February 2023 where voters elected members of the House of Representatives using first-past-the-post voting in all 360 federal constituencies. The last regular House elections for all districts were in 2019.
The 2015 Ogun State House of Assembly election was held on April 11,2015,to elect members of the Ogun State House of Assembly in Nigeria. All the 26 seats were up for election in the Ogun State House of Assembly. APC won 17 seats,while PDP won 9 seat.
Olamide Adesanmi Oladiji known as Landmark is a Nigerian politician currently serving as the speaker of the 10th Ondo State House of Assembly since June 2023. A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC),he is representing Ilaje Constituency 1,Ondo East constituency.
