Kasaragod is a municipal town and administrative headquarters of Kasaragod district in the state of Kerala,India. Established in 1966,Kasaragod was the first municipal town in the district. It is the northernmost district of Kerala and is also known as Sapta Bhasha Sangama Bhumi.

The High Court of Kerala is the highest court in the Indian state of Kerala and the Union territory of Lakshadweep. It is located in Kochi. Drawing its powers under Article 226 of the Constitution of India,the High Court has the power to issue directions,orders and writs including the writs of habeas corpus,mandamus,prohibition,quo warranto and certiorari for ensuring the enforcement of the Fundamental Rights guaranteed by the Constitution to citizens or for other specified purposes. The High Court is empowered with original,appellate and revisional jurisdiction in civil as well as criminal matters,and the power to answer references to it under some statutes. The High Court has the superintendence and visitorial jurisdiction over all courts and tribunals of inferior jurisdiction covered under its territorial jurisdiction.
The University of Calicut,also known as Calicut University,is a state-run public university headquartered at Tenhipalam in Malappuram district of the state of Kerala,India. Established in 1968,it is the first university to be set up in northern Kerala. The university is coordinated by the University Grants Commission.

Renjith under Rajaputhra Visual Media and distributed by Vaishaka Release. The film also stars Thilakan,Biju Menon,Siddique and Vijayaraghavan. Red Chillies was released in India on 14 February 2009 on Valentine's Day. The film was a moderate success at the box office.
K. Surendran was an Indian novelist who wrote in Malayalam. He won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1963 for the novel Maya and the Vayalar Award in 1994 for the novel Guru.
Kajah Beedi is a beedi (cigarette) brand from Thrissur in Kerala,India. It is produced in Chavakkad in Thrissur District. The brand is owned by Kajah Beedi Company of Rajah Group. The company was started in 1948 by Hajee A Abdul Kader Sahib. Around 45,000 workers work in this company.

The Jalalabad prison break was a coordinated attack and prison break conducted by the Islamic State –Khorasan Province (ISIS–K) on 2 August 2020 which targeted Jalalabad Prison in the provincial capital of Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan. The attack,which intended to free other members of ISIS–K previously incarcerated by the Afghan government,has been described by counterterrorism analysts as "a highly sophisticated [...] coordinated assault" and in 2023 as "one of [ISIS–K's] most sophisticated and ambitious attacks to date."
Elections to local bodies in Kerala were held in December 2020. Polling took place over 3 days;on 8,10 and 14 December,with the votes counted and results announced on 16 December.
