Surya Institute

Surya Institute or (SI) is an Indonesian-based organization specializing in educational development and training. Surya Institute was founded in 2006 by physicist Yohanes Surya. Surya Institute offices are located in the SURE Center, Summarecon Serpong, Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia. In 2014, Surya Institute manage three institutions: Surya College of Education Surya (STKIP Surya), Surya University and Surya Center for Learning Excellence (SCLE). [1]

Activities and International Event

Surya Institute often works with governments, local organizations, private companies and the international community to undertake research and development of teaching materials and teaching methods. It also routinely conducts teacher training events, seminars, road shows, TV shows, talk shows, and science camps.

In reaching their goal, they often partners with other organizations to run international educational events, such as:

In 2009, the foundation worked in Papua. They are looking for children of Papua, bringing them to the SURE Center, Summarecon Serpong, Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia and teach them physics & mathematics with GASING methods.

The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), is an international research institute for physical and mathematical sciences that operates under a tripartite agreement between the Italian Government, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). South Tangerang City in Banten, Indonesia

South Tangerang is a city in the province of Banten, Indonesia. Located 30 km (19 mi) on the southwestern border of Jakarta, the city forms part of the Greater Jakarta metropolitan area. Sekolah Menengah Atas Kristen PENABUR Gading Serpong, often shortened to SMAK PENABUR Gading Serpong, is a Christian private high school located in Gading Serpong, Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia. It is organized by the BPK PENABUR Jakarta Foundation. The school provides tenth to twelfth grade programs as implemented nationally in Indonesia. Yohanes Surya

Yohanes Surya is an Indonesian physicist and coach of Indonesian Physics Team for the Olympiad (TOFI) since 1993. Under his guidance, the Indonesian team has won 54 gold medals, 33 silver medals, and 42 bronze medals at various international science and physics competitions. He is well known for his 'fun and applicable physics' training program. He is author of 68 books and the comic Archi & Meidy.

Bumi Serpong Damai, commonly referred to BSD City is a privately developed planned community at Serpong district of South Tangerang, within Greater Jakarta in Indonesia. The project was initiated in 1984 by a group of private developers and starred in 1989. The town is implemented and managed by the holding company PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk, which is owned by Sinar Mas Land, a subsidiary of the Sinar Mas Group, a large industrial conglomerate in Indonesia. BSD City encompasses a total area of approximately 6,000 hectares. International Conference of Young Scientist or ICYS is the unofficial world championship of research papers in several scientific disciplines for secondary school students. It has gained notable participation across three continents. It is organised by a host institution and vary for each year. ICYS is a member of World Federation of Physics Competitions.

Gading Serpong City in West Jakarta, Indonesia

Gading Serpong is a township, 21 km west of Jakarta at Kelapa Dua and Pagedangan, Tangerang Regency of Banten province in Indonesia. Total land area of this satellite city is about 1500 hectares, which was being first developed by PT Summarecon Agung as Summarecon Serpong. Drs. Kyai Hajji Habib Ali Alwi bin Thohir Al Husainy is an Indonesian politician, da'i, Islamic scholar and founder of the Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Husainy, Serpong, South Tangerang, Banten. At the election of regional head and deputy regional head of Tangerang Regency in 2008, Alwi was nominated by the Democrat Party and the National Awakening Party as a candidate for vice regent along with Usamah Hisyam as a candidate for regent, but this pair was defeated by incumbent candidate Ismet Iskandar with Rano Karno as his deputy. Currently, Alwi serves as a senator representing the province of Banten in the seat of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia period 2014–2019.
