Sveti Petar (English: Saint Peter) is a village on the Croatian island of Cres, in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. Administratively, it is part of the town of Cres. As of 2021, it had a population of 7. [2]

History

An old hollow Quercus pubescens tree of girth 565 centimetres (222 in) and height 15 metres (49 ft), by one estimate 400 years old, was placed under protection and designated a natural monument in 1997. [3] A heavy snowfall on 6 April 2021 broke both of its remaining branches. [4]

Landmarks

A church dedicated to Saint Peter [a] is located in the town, the town's name being derived from the church.
