The women's marathon 10 kilometre event at the 2024 Summer Olympics will be held on 8 August 2024 in the River Seine, Paris It will be the fifth appearance of the event, having first been held in 2008.

Qualification

The men's and women's 10 km races featured 22 swimmers each, three less than those in the Tokyo 2020 roster: [1] [2] [3]

Competition format

Unlike all of the swimming events in the pool, the men's and women's marathon 10 kilometre races are held in open water. No preliminary heats are held, with only the single mass-start race being contested. The race is held using freestyle swimming, with a lack of stroke regulations. [4]

In total, Wellbrock has won 28 medals at international competitions of which 20 are gold. The swimming competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 27 July to 9 August 2024. Pool events will occur at the Paris La Défense Arena, with the two-day marathon swimming staged at Pont Alexandre III through the Seine River.

This article details the qualifying phase for swimming at the 2024 Summer Olympics. 852 swimmers will compete in thirty-five swimming pool events at the Games, with forty-four more racing through the 10-kilometre open water marathon. The qualification window for swimming pool events will occur between 1 March 2023 and 23 June 2024.
