Swire Hotels is a division of Swire Properties Limited, a subsidiary of Swire Pacific Limited, a blue chip company quoted on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Swire Hotels was formed in 2008 to create and manage small luxury hotels in Hong Kong and Mainland China. It manages two hotel brands – the "House Collective" and EAST. [1]
The Opposite House is Swire Hotels' first hotel which opened in March 2008 in Beijing's Sanlitun district. The hotel is an integral part of Sanlitun Village, an open-plan shopping center also developed by Swire Properties. Designed by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the hotel has 99 rooms, including a two-floor penthouse, two restaurants and two bars. [2]
The ground floor lobby houses rotating art exhibits, while other sculptures and installations are permanently on display in the public areas. [3]
The name of the hotel comes from the translation of a Chinese word, which historically is used to describe the building located opposite the main house in a courtyard where esteemed guests would stay.
The Upper House is located above Pacific Place in Admiralty, Hong Kong [4] Opened in 2009, the hotel features 117 rooms including 21 suites and two penthouses. [5]
The hotel was designed by Hong Kong–based architect Andre Fu. [6] Art appears prominently in the hotel interior; 350 original artworks are showcased within the premises, including Hiroshiwata Sawada’s 40-metre tall “Rise” steel sculpture. [7] The Upper House is also home to Café Gray Deluxe. [8]
The Temple House is the third property by The House Collective. [9] Opened in 2015, it is situated in Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu in the heart of Jinjiang District.
Bitieshi at The Temple House is a restored Qing dynasty courtyard that houses a library and gallery. There are 100 rooms and 42 residences designed by UK-based Make Architects. [10] The hotel has an urban day spa MI XUN and TEAHOUSE. [11]
EAST, Hong Kong is located at Island East, a development by Swire Properties. Opened in early 2010, it was the first of Swire Hotels' EAST brand.
The hotel features 346 rooms and suites, one restaurant and a rooftop bar. It was designed by Hong Kong–based architect Wong Tung & Partners and interior design studio CL3 Architects Ltd. [12] [13]
EAST, Hong Kong houses a number of art pieces by local and international artists including Sui Jianguo from China, Lincoln Seligman from London and Danny Lee from Hong Kong. [14]
EAST, Beijing is a business hotel located in the Chaoyang district of Beijing, China. [15] Opened in September 2012, it is situated within INDIGO in Jiangtai – a mixed-use property developed by Swire Properties Limited and Sino-Ocean Land Holdings Limited. The brand's name refers back to the hotels' location in the eastern districts of Beijing and Hong Kong. [16] The hotel was designed by the British architecture firm Benoy, which also designed INDIGO. This is the first hotel in the United States under the EAST brand. [19] Located in downtown Miami, the hotel is part of Swire Properties' Brickell City Centre. [20] Designed by Miami-based architects Arquitectonica, with interiors by New York's Clodagh Design, [21] [22] this hotel has 263 guest rooms and 89 residence suites. [23]

Swire Restaurants was founded in 2013 to manage standalone restaurants. Restaurants in their portfolio include The Continental, Plat du Jour, PUBLIC and Mr & Mrs Fox. [26] The group also operates a centralised kitchen called S.H.A.R.K.. [27]

Sanlitun is an area of the Chaoyang District, Beijing containing many bars, restaurants, and stores. It is a popular destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The area has been under almost constant regeneration since the late 20th century as part of a citywide project of economic regrowth. It currently houses many bars and clubs popular with both locals and foreigners as well as international brand-name stores such as Uniqlo, Apple, Nike, Adidas, KFC and Nathan's Famous. Taikoo Place is a commercial building complex located in Quarry Bay, east Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. It comprises grade A office towers, car parking, clubs, office apartment, parks, and shops. It is reachable by MTR Island line (MTR). These three complexes are all managed by Swire Properties since the beginning from Taikoo Sugar Refinery, the subsequent Taikoo Dockyard and the recent demolitions of the industrial buildings.
The Excelsior was a four-star hotel located at 281 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. It was owned and operated by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, a member of the Jardine Matheson Group, and served as the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group's headquarters. The Noon-day Gun is located opposite the hotel. It closed on 31 March 2019 for demolition and replacement by an office tower.

Brickell City Centre is a large mixed-use complex consisting of two residential high-rise towers, two office buildings, a high-rise hotel, and an interconnected five-story shopping mall and lifestyle center covering 9 acres (36,000 m2) located in the Brickell district of Downtown Miami, Florida. Situated at the junction of Miami Avenue and Eighth Street, it spans up to five blocks to the west of Brickell Avenue and to the south of the Miami River. Contrary to the name, the development is not in the traditional downtown Miami city centre, but in the more recently redeveloped financial district of Brickell. The retail shopping and lifestyle center is operated by Simon Malls.
The Peak Tower is a leisure and shopping complex located at Victoria Gap, near the summit of Victoria Peak on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. It also houses the upper terminal of the Peak Tram. One Brickell City Centre is a proposed 80 story, 1,040 ft office skyscraper in the city of Miami, Florida. The tower would be part of the existing nine-acre Brickell City Centre development. If built, One Brickell City Centre would be the tallest building in Miami and the Southeastern United States, surpassing the Bank of America Plaza in Atlanta. It would also surpass the height of the not yet constructed One Bayfront Plaza, which is approved at 1,010 ft tall. Demolition on the existing structure is still underway as of January 2024.
W Miami, formerly Viceroy Miami, is a luxury hotel located in Brickell, Miami and part of the three tower mixed-use Icon Brickell complex. The hotel, located at 485 Brickell Avenue, opened in 2009 and contains several restaurants, pools, and lounges.

Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Taipei is a five-star luxury hotel located in Da'an District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is managed by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. The hotel has 420 rooms and suites and opened in December 1994.
