TAFE Queensland SkillsTech (previously known as SkillsTech Australia and Trade and Technician Skills Institute) is a pre-eminent provider of vocational education and training in Queensland, Australia. It operates four trade training centres across Brisbane. TAFE Queensland SkillsTech offers specialist trade training for many industrial areas. [1]

History

In July 2017, the process of consolidating TAFE Queensland SkillsTech and five other regional registered training organisations (RTOs) into a single RTO began. TAFE Queensland SkillsTech consolidated into the TAFE Queensland organisation, and no longer operate as a separate RTO. [2] TAFE QLD offers admissions to international students in up to 22 study areas. TAFE's international students are mostly from South Korea, China, India, Brazil, Japan, Philippines, Colombia, Nepal, Hong Kong, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Sweden, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Thailand, South Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia. TAFE Queensland Gold Coast was formed from the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE in 2013 on 1 July. The vocational education and training (VET) organisation services the Gold Coast region of Queensland, Australia, with six campuses across suburbs including Southport, Coomera, Ashmore and Coolangatta and Robina.

Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE was a progressive, public provider of technical and further education college within Queensland, Australia. MSIT operated in the highly competitive vocational education and training sector. The college offered 270 courses for approx 30,000 students enrolled each year. MSIT also provided fee for service corporate training and small business coaching programs.

Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) regulates institutes which provide education from level 1 to level 6.

TAFE Queensland North was formed on 1 July 2013 by the merger of Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE and Tropical North Queensland TAFE. It services North Queensland and Far North Queensland, and is the largest TAFE region in Queensland with close to 20 campus locations in sixteen localities, covering an area of 52'000 kilometres.
