The Süper Lig is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. Eighteen clubs compete annually, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted and relegated from, and to, the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 34 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday.
İstanbulspor is a Turkish football and sports club, founded by Istanbul High School students in 1926. In 2004–05 they were relegated from the Turkish Süper Lig to TFF 1. Lig. For many decades it was the fourth most famous and well-developed professional football club from Istanbul, coming after Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahçe. After being bought by the Uzan Family in 1990, it has been repossessed by the government and resold to third companies.

İstanbul Başakşehir Futbol Kulübü is a Turkish professional football club based in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul, Turkey. The club is better known as İstanbul Başakşehir or, due to sponsorship, Medipol Başakşehir. The club was founded in 1990 as İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor. They first reached the highest level in Turkish Football in 2007–08. They play their home games at the Fatih Terim Stadium in Istanbul and are owned by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Feriköy Spor Kulübü is a Turkish sports club established in Feriköy neighbourhood of Şişli, Istanbul in 1927. They were playing at Turkish National Football League from 1959 to 1968. They fell to the Amateur league for economic difficulties after 1968. They finally qualified Regional Amateur League, which was played between 1991 and 1995 and almost disappeared until the 2010–11 season. when they qualified again, after finishing the 2nd Group of Istanbul Super Amateur League as 2nd. But, they finished 11th 11th Group of Regional Amateur League and relegated to Istanbul Super Amateur League.
The National Division or National League was a top-level football competition organised by the Turkish Football Federation, including the most successful teams from Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir in Turkey. It was the first national league in Turkish football history. The league was played from 1937 to 1950.
Adapazarı station is the main terminal railway station in the city of Adapazarı. It is the eastern terminus of the Haydarpaşa-Adapazarı Regional, the most heavily used rail service line in Turkey and second most in service frequency. The station is located directly in the city center. The other two stations serving Adapazarı are Mithatpaşa railway station, located in southwestern Adapazarı and Arifye railway station, located in Adapazarı's southern suburb. The station is situated on the north end of the Adapazarı Branch, which connects to the Istanbul––Ankara Main Line at Arifye.
The Adapazarı Express officially listed as the Haydarpaşa-Adapazarı Regional was a regional rail service, that ran between Istanbul and Adapazarı. For the majority of its time in service, it was the second-busiest route of the Turkish State Railways, after the Adana-Mersin Regional. Trains served a heavily populated region on the north-east shores of the Sea of Marmara, and the Sakarya plain so service was frequent, with 12 trains daily in each direction in 2012. The Regional service also passed through these important districts of Istanbul: Kadıköy, Maltepe, Kartal, Pendik, Tuzla as well as Gebze, İzmit and Adapazarı. Because of the cities the trains service, it had earned the nickname Metropolitan Express. The train used to service Coşkunoğulları station until the TOE factory was closed in 1991. It also serviced Acısu, Tepetarla and Kurtköy stations until 1998. Due to the construction of the Istanbul-Ankara high-speed railway, the Haydarpaşa-Adapazarı Regional was discontinued on 1 February 2012 in order to rehabilitate the existing railway line. On 5 January 2015 service between Arifiye and Pendik was reopened with new faster regional service known as the Ada Express.
Halkalı station is the westernmost station on the İstanbul-Halkalı Line as well as in İstanbul. The station also services regional trains to Edirne, Uzunköprü, Çerkezköy and international trains to Bucharest, Belgrade and Sofia. The distance of the Halkalı station to the Istanbul Sirkeci Terminal is 27.63 km (17.17 mi).
Maltepe station is located in Maltepe, İstanbul. The station is 14.3 km (8.9 mi) east from Haydarpaşa Terminal and is located directly southeast of the historical city center of Maltepe. The station has 2 platforms for passenger traffic and 2 freight platforms. The Haydarpaşa-Gebze Line and the Haydarpaşa-Adapazarı Regional service the station, as intercity trains skip Maltepe. The station was originally opened in 1872 by the Ottoman Government as part of a railway from İstanbul to İzmit. The government sold the station to the Anatolian Railway in 1888, which was later taken over by the Turkish State Railways in 1927. The station used to be a main freight depot, but when the branch line serving the Maltepe military pier was abandoned freight operations declined greatly.
Pendik station is the main railway station in Pendik, Istanbul. Located between Hatboyu and Abdülhalik Renda Avenues in southeastern Pendik, it is the temporary western terminus of the Istanbul-Ankara railway and the Istanbul-Ankara high-speed railway. TCDD Taşımacılık operates YHT trains to Ankara and Konya, via Eskişehir, along with four daily regional trains to Adapazarı. The station is 24.05 km (14.94 mi) away from Haydarpaşa station in central Istanbul.
Ptt, an abbreviation for Posta ve Telgraf Teşkilatı, is the national post and telegraph directorate of Turkey. Formerly, the organization was named Posta Telgraf Telefon. After the privatization of the telephone telecommunications service business, the directorate was renamed, keeping its acronym. It is headquartered in Ankara, and is known as TURKISH POST internationally.
The Ada Express is a limited stop regional train service operating between Pendik, Istanbul and Adapazarı. It was inaugurated on 5 January 2015 as the successor to the popular Adapazarı Express train service. However, unlike its predecessor, the Ada Express does not make local stops and run as often and it does not operate into central Adapazarı. Trains consist of TVS2000 cars and use E68000 series locomotives for motive power.
The 2015–16 Turkish Cup is the 54th season of the Turkish Cup. Ziraat Bankası is the sponsor of the tournament, thus the sponsored name is Ziraat Turkish Cup. The winners will earn a berth in the group stage of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League, and also qualify for the 2016 Turkish Super Cup.
Sapanca station is a railway station along the Istanbul-Ankara railway in the town of Sapanca, Turkey. It is serviced by the Istanbul-Arifiye limited-stop regional train, the Ada Express. Until 2012, Sapanca was a stop on the Haydarpaşa-Adapazarı Regional, which operated frequently. Other express trains heading for Ankara and points beyond would skip the station. Today, the high-speed Yüksek Hızlı Tren service passes the station on its own right of way. Sapanca is 123 km (76 mi) away from Haydarpaşa Terminal in Istanbul.
TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. is a government-owned railway company responsible for the operations of most passenger and freight rail in Turkey. The company was formed on 14 June 2016, splitting off from the Turkish State Railways (TCDD) to take over railway operations, while TCDD would continue to administer railway infrastructure. TCDD Taşımacılık officially began operations on 1 January 2017.
