Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) is a governmental agency in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is responsible for the development of industries in the state by formulating policies that help industry growth, and by establishing industrial estates. It often partners with TANSIDCO. TIDCO has established the Tidel Park in Chennai and Tidel Park in Coimbatore for information technology companies, and Ticel Park in southern Chennai for chemical companies.

Now Salem has been developed a lot by building many bridges and is considered to be the smart city. Salem is famous for cultivating mangoes.

The proposal is supported by the Confederation of Indian Industry, and it is estimated that the park will take up 250 acres (1.0 km2) of land and create more than 100,000 jobs. It was set up in 2006 to foster the growth of information technology in other districts of Tamil Nadu by TIDEL Park Ltd, a joint venture of Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) and Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT). The name TIDEL is a portmanteau of TIDCO and ELCOT and also named after TIDEL Park at Chennai. It is the country's largest single building IT park in terms of built up area.
