Tanushree Debbarma is the first woman Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in Tripura,India. She was the first woman from Tripura to pass the IAS exam. [1] She secured fourth place in the civil service examination in the ST category in 2006. [ citation needed ] She studied at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and received an offer from a multi-national IT firm but turned it down to prepare for the Civil Services Examination IAS exam. [ citation needed ]
Debbarma was in the Government of Karnataka until 2020 as the Director of Tribal Welfare with additional roles of Director of Elementary Education and State Project Director,National Education Mission (Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan). She has now been transferred and appointed secretary to the Government of Tripura. [2]
She now holds the additional posts of Secretary of Industries and Commerce (Information and Technology) and member of Tripura Sales Tax Tribunal and VAT Tribunal in the state administration of Tripura. [3] During the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown,she was one of the officials from the Government of Tripura engaged in bringing back people stranded in other states. [4]
The National Liberation Front of Tripura was a banned Christian Tripuri nationalist militant organisation based in Tripura,India. It had an estimated 550 to 850 members.
The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is the administrative arm of the All India Services of Government of India. The Tripuri are a Tibeto-Burman-speaking ethnic group of Bangladesh and Northeast Indian state of Tripura. They are the descendants of the inhabitants of the Twipra/Tripura Kingdom in North-East India and Bangladesh. The Tripuri people through the Manikya dynasty ruled the Kingdom of Tripura for over 600 years starting from 1400 A.D. until the kingdom joined the Indian Union on 15 October 1949. The Tipra Dynasty was established in 590 AD.

Animesh Debbarma is an Indian politician and senior leader of the Tipra Motha Party. Currently,he is a cabinet minister in the second Manik Saha Ministry. He served as the 13th Leader of the Opposition of Tripura Legislative Assembly from 24 March 2023 to 6 March 2024. He was also the Deputy Chief Executive Member of TTAADC but resigned when he won the 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly election.

Pradyot Manikya Deb Barma is the current titular King (Maharaja) and statesman from Tripura. He was born in New Delhi,and now resides in Agartala,Tripura. He also served as the editor of TNT-The Northeast Today. He is the current chairman of The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance also known as TIPRA Motha. He is known as 'Bubagra' among his people and is one of the active voices for the rights of Indigenous Tripuri people of Tripura.
The All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) was a Tripuri nationalist militant group active in India's Tripura State. It was founded on 11 July 1990,by a group of former Tripura National Volunteer members under the leadership of Ranjit Debbarma. The ATTF is considered a terrorist organisation by India. According to the South Asian Terrorism Portal,approximately 90% of the ATTF's administration are Hindu and the rest are Christians. The group was said to have been formed as the armed wing of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) but split into its own organization. The group was headquartered in Tarabon in Bangladesh.

Shah Faesal is an Indian bureaucrat currently posted as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Culture (India) In 2010,Faesal secured Rank 1 and became the first Kashmiri to top the Indian Civil Services Examination. She completed her BE from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology,University of Delhi and MBA from FMS,University of Delhi. Singhal topped the exam in her fourth attempt,to become the first differently abled woman to top the civil services exam.

Aparajita Sarangi is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party and the incumbent Member of Parliament from Bhubaneswar. A former Odisha cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1994 batch,Sarangi quit her job and joined the BJP on 27 November 2018 to contest the 2019 Indian general election. She was fielded against Biju Janata Dal's Arup Patnaik.
Brishaketu Debbarma is a politician from Tripura,India. He was a member of 12th Tripura Legislative Assembly. He was elected to the Assembly in 2018,representing the Simna constituency) as a member of the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura. He resigned from the Legislative Assembly on 29 June 2021 and joined The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) on 9 July 2021.

Chitta Maharaj is an Indian spiritual guru and head of the Shanti Kali Ashram. Maharaj was honored with the Karmayogi Award in 2021 at New Delhi for his significant contribution towards tribal welfare,health and organic agriculture,social upliftment,education in remote and tribal areas of Tripura through spiritual and education. In 2024,he was awarded the Padma Shri (2024),the fourth-highest civilian award in India.
