Tapinator, Inc., founded in 2013, is a mobile game app developer and publisher based in New York City, with product development and marketing teams located in North America, Europe, and Asia. Tapinator generates revenue through the sale of branded advertisements and App Store transactions. Since its founding, Tapinator has published more than 300 mobile games. [1]

History

Tapinator was founded in 2013 and became publicly listed in June 2014 under the ticker symbol TAPM. [2] The Tapinator team had previously founded Familybuilder, Inc., the developer of the Family Tree application on Facebook, which was acquired by Intelius in 2011. [3] In November 2014, Tapinator acquired InAppFuel, Inc., a developer of a patented minigame software for mobile game publishers. [4]

On December 31, 2019, Tapinator announced a 1-for-160 reverse stock split. [5]

Dice Mage 2August, 2017Dice Mage 2, the sequel to the indie-success Dice Mage, was released on August 17, 2017. It features improved pixel-art visuals, and a revamped “dice-battling system” that utilizes new role-playing dice variations. Since launch, the title has been covered by several mobile gaming magazines including Heavy and App Advice. Christine Chan of AppAdvice stated, “Dice Mage 2 is a worthy upgrade… I can see myself coming back to this one for a long time." [8] [9]
Big Sport Fishing 2017July, 2017 [10] In December, 2015, Tapinator announced its acquisition of the publishing rights to Big Sport Fishing 3D, a mobile fishing game franchise. Developed by Tapinator in cooperation with Rocket Mind Inc., Big Sport Fishing 2017 allows players' smartphones to act as virtual fishing rods within a 360-degree fishing environment. [11]
Solitaire DashDecember, 2016Solitaire Dash, a combination of solitaire and derby horse racing, had an iOS launch on December 21, 2016, with a subsequent Google Play launch on January 9, 2017. [12] [13]
ROCKYDecember, 2016 [14] Tapinator announced on December 1, 2015, that it would be partnering with MGM Interactive to build a mobile game based on the Rocky film franchise. [15] The title, which launched on December 7, 2016, for iOS, features collectible fighters (including characters from motion pictures), as well as competitive multiplayer functionality. 2016

Combo Quest 2 launched globally on June 24, 2016, adding new heroes, levels, and items, to the core rhythm-battling gameplay established in its predecessor. [20]
Blackjack ClassicMay, 2016Blackjack Classic is the third entry in Tapinator's Social-Casino series, and as Video Poker Classic before it, continues the same model, but with a focus on Blackjack. [21] It launched on May 25, 2016. [22]
Video Poker ClassicApril, 2016Video Poker Classic was launched on April 7, 2016. Emulating the video poker machines found in traditional casino environments, the game features thirty-nine variants of video poker. [21] By June 2016, it had reached the top 150 grossing charts in the Casino category across iPhone, iPad, and Google Play. [22]
Miss the MooseMarch, 2016Miss the Moose, launched on March 17, 2016, is a one-touch quick-fix game where players navigate a vehicle around a circular track while attempting to avoid herds of moose. [23] The game reached an average player review score of 4.5 out of 5, and received news coverage from Gamezebo, Social Times and App Advice. [24]
Deadliest Catch: Seas of FuryJuly 2015Deadliest Catch: Seas of Fury, developed in cooperation with HyperPower Game Group, launched on July 13, 2015. Based on the eponymous Discovery Channel show, it received on-air exposure during the show's twelfth season. [25]
Dice MageMay, 2015Launched on May 25, 2015, Dice Mage is a role-playing game where players fight monsters in an infinite world by rolling a magical dice. [26] It was featured as a “Best New Game” on Apple’s iOS App Store, and earned the rare “App Store Editors’ Note." [27]
Video Poker VIPApril, 2015Video Poker VIP, launched on April 30, 2015, is Tapinator's first Social-Casino property. It features multiple video poker variants, world locations, leveling, and experience-point mechanics. [28] With the release of version 3.0 of Video Poker VIP, a competitive multiplayer mode termed, "Heads-Up," was introduced. [21]
Burn It DownApril, 2015Launched on April 23, 2015, Burn It Down, is a puzzle-platformer of the horror-genre with a unique control scheme that offers only two player-inputs: "left and right." [29] It was featured by Time Magazine as one of its "5 Best iPhone Games of the Week" and was called "surprisingly plot-heavy [–] part detective story, part haunted mansion explorer." [30]
Combo QuestJanuary, 2015Combo Quest is an action-rpg with rhythm-based gameplay, launched on January 8, 2015. Thereafter, it became the #1 "Role-Playing Game" and, one of the "Top 50 Paid Games" on the iOS App Store. [31] It established the series' unique battle system where a bar travels laterally and the player must tap the screen when the said-bar is above a block to trigger various actions. [32]
Endless BalanceDecember, 2014Endless Balance is a sequel to Balance of the Shaolin. Keeping the core "balancing" gameplay, Endless Balance discarded level-based story progression in favor of endless high score-chasing and introduced new characters and environments. [33] Launched on December 30, 2014, Endless Balance was featured on the iOS App Store "Home Page" and became a "Top 50 Free Game." [34]
SkyBalance by Nik WallendaOctober, 2014SkyBalance by Nik Wallenda is the officially licensed game for Discover Channel's Skyscraper Live , launching a few days prior to the event – on October 29, 2014. [35] Implementing elements from Tapinator's previous Balance game, Skybalance allows players to walk in the shoes of Wallenda, as he balances on a tightrope above Chicago, albeit while facing various obstacles. [36]
Balance of the ShaolinJune 2014In Tapinator's first "Full-Featured" title, Balance of the Shaolin, players are tasked with balancing on unorthodox objects while facing obstacles of increasing difficulty across multiple levels. [37] Launched on June 25, 2014, Balance of the Shaolin was featured as a "Best New Game" on the iOS App Store, and became one of the "Top 50" applications on the "Overall" chart. [38] It received positive reviews from multiple publications, including IGN Italy, which gave it an 8 out of 10. [39]

<i>Shadow Blade</i> 2014 video game

Shadow Blade is an action-platform game developed by Dead Mage and published by Crescent Moon Games for iOS, Android and Ouya. It was remade as Shadow Blade: Reload for Microsoft Windows and modern consoles.

<i>Threes</i> 2014 video game

Threes is a puzzle video game by Sirvo, an independent development team consisting of game designer Asher Vollmer, illustrator Greg Wohlwend, and composer Jimmy Hinson. The game was released on February 6, 2014, for iOS devices and later ported to Android, Xbox One, Windows Phone, and Windows. In Threes, the player slides numbered tiles on a grid to combine addends and multiples of three. The game ends when there are no moves left on the grid and the tiles are counted for a final score.

<i>Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition</i> 2014 video game

Space Marshals is a science fiction top-down third-person shooter stealth video game. In the game, the player is tasked with taking out various criminals and their henchmen. Space Marshals focuses heavily on stealth elements, forcing the player to sneak around enemies to avoid being attacked.

<i>Deus Ex Go</i> 2016 video game

Deus Ex Go was a 2016 turn-based puzzle video game in the Deus Ex series by Square Enix. The player uses a touchscreen to move Adam Jensen, a protagonist from the cyberpunk-themed series, as a puzzle piece through a board game while avoiding obstacles and manipulating the environment. Critics wrote that the game successfully captured the cybernetic dystopia of the Deus Ex series and the brain teasing puzzles of the Go mobile game series. But compared to the other entries in the Go series, reviewers considered Deus Ex Go's to be less creative, with a lackluster story, less visually interesting aesthetic, and shorter length.

Postknight is a RPG mobile app that was created by Kurechii, a Malaysian game developing team. It was released for iOS and Android on February 9, 2017, after its beta testing period ended. The sequel of the game 'Postknight 2' is launched in December 2021.

<i>Phoenix 2</i> 2016 video game

Phoenix 2 is a freemium mobile game developed and self published by Dutch indie studio Firi Games, released for iOS on July 28, 2016, and the sequel to Phoenix HD... It is a vertical scrolling shooter where the player controls a ship via touch to destroy enemy ships flying in from the top of the screen. New missions are generated daily.

Kamibox is an independent German video game developer founded by Philipp Stollenmayer. Stollenmayer is the sole employee of the company, which creates almost exclusively mobile games. Some of Kamibox's games have received awards for their design, including an Apple Design Award. Kamibox games often have a philosophical element to them, such as see/saw and Sometimes You Die, which explore the concept of death in video games.

<i>Turbo Dismount</i> 2014 video game

Turbo Dismount is a 2014 action vehicle simulator video game developed and published by Finnish developer Secret Exit Ltd. for iOS, Android, macOS and Microsoft Windows. The game was first unveiled at GDC 2013 and was released in early access the following year on January 10, 2014, and remained in early access until fully releasing on Steam in May 2014. Turbo is the latest in the Dismount series and serves as a follow up to Stair Dismount, developed under their original name tAAt. Much like the other games in the series, the aim of the game is to cause as much chaos as possible.
