Taroq (Persian : طارق, also Romanized as Ţāroq, Ţāreq, Ţārq, and Taregh; also known as Tūrāk) [1] is a village in Nehbandan County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 280, in 101 families. [2]

At the 2006 census, the county's population was 56,089, in 13,541 families. The county has two districts: Shusef District and Central District. The county has two cities: Shusef and Nehbandan. The majority of people are Persians speaking a Farsi dialect called Nehi. A large number are Baloch and speak the Balochi language. Besides from that there are many afghans living in the area, both refugees and second or third generation afghans.
