Tathoi Deb (born Sharanya Deb [1] ) is an Indian actress, dancer and television presenter. She is one of the most popular former child actresses in Bengali cinema.
Tathoi was born in Kolkata, West Bengal to Late Lala Biswajit Deb and Jamuna Deb. She has lost her father at an early age, so she lives with her mother. She has two older brothers Biswarup & Biswaraj. She attended National Gems Higher Secondary School. [2]
Tathoi Deb's first job at TV was hosting the junior version of Bengali television dance reality show Dance Bangla Dance on Zee Bangla together with Aritra. Veteran Bengali actor Mithun Chakraborty was the judge of the show, [2] [3] which was broadcast for two seasons and made her a household name. She has won the highest television award in Bengali channels: a Telesamman Award for her presenting in this show.[ citation needed ] Tathoi, Aritra and Mithun Chakraborty had also presented a new dance show titled Dhoom Dhamaka which contains both junior and senior contestants. She received the coveted Sanjukta Panigrahi Award for her dancing at the age of 8[ citation needed ] and was also awarded the Amazing Kid Entertainer award at the Pogo Amazing Kids Awards (PAKA) 2008. She received the award from Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. [1]
Tathoi has also performed versatile roles in various Bengali movies and telefilms. In Neel Rajar Deshe by Riingo she was the female lead. [4] Tathoi is a trained Odissi dancer and have been trained by Dona Ganguly, the wife of Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly. [2]
Tathoi has been part of National Award-winning film Shob Choritro Kalponik by Rituporno Ghosh where she played cameo of young Radhika (Bipasha Basu). Tathoi's performance in Chalo Paltai (2011) was praised by all and sundry. [5] She won the Best Child Artist award from Reliance Big Bangla New Talent Awards in 2011 for her performance in Chalo Paltai. [6] In January 2012, Tathoi starred in Khokababu , the second highest-grossing Tollywood film of the time. Khokababu is Tathoi's most successful film till date commercially. Tathoi's acting was appreciated by fans and critics in her last film Ek Phonta Bhalobasha opposite Indraneil Sengupta which released in July 2013. [7]
Besides acting, she has endorsed several brands like Elite Footwear, Meghna Garments, Itsy Bitsy Biscuits, Hahnemann Food products.[ citation needed ]She has also hosted and acted in different TV shows since Dance Bangla Dance Junior. She returned to Dance Bangla Dance season 8 in 2014 as a celebrity participant and was the winner.

Utpal Dutt was an Indian actor, director, and writer-playwright. He was primarily an actor in Bengali theatre, where he became a pioneering figure in Modern Indian theatre, when he founded the "Little Theatre Group" in 1949. This group enacted many English, Shakespearean and Brecht plays, in a period now known as the "Epic theatre" period, before it immersed itself completely in highly political and radical theatre. His plays became an apt vehicle for the expression of his Marxist ideologies, visible in socio-political plays such as Kallol (1965), Manusher Adhikar, Louha Manob (1964), Tiner Toloar and Maha-Bidroha. He also acted in over 100 Bengali and Hindi films in a career spanning 40 years, and remains most known for his roles in films such as Mrinal Sen’s Bhuvan Shome (1969), Satyajit Ray’s Agantuk (1991), Gautam Ghose’s Padma Nadir Majhi (1992) and Hrishikesh Mukherjee's breezy Hindi comedies such as Gol Maal (1979) and Rang Birangi (1983). He also did the role of a sculptor, Sir Digindra Narayan, in the episode Seemant Heera of Byomkesh Bakshi on Doordarshan in 1993, shortly before his death.

Jisshu Sengupta is an Indian actor, producer, television presenter, who predominantly works in Bengali films, and also in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil films. Sengupta made his debut through a Bengali TV series, Mahaprabhu (1996) where he portrayed the role of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu; the role gained him much recognition. Subsequently, he made his film debut with Priyojon (1999), which became a debacle at the box office. Koel Mallick is an Indian actress who appears in Bengali films. She is the daughter of actor Ranjit Mallick and Deepa Mallick. She made her film debut with Nater Guru (2003) opposite Jeet, which was a box office-success. Sob Charitro Kalponik,( transl. All Characters are Imaginary; also known as Afterword) is a 2009 Bengali film by Rituparno Ghosh starring Bipasha Basu, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Jisshu Sengupta. It was selected for the 30th Durban International Film Festival and won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali 2009. It was screened in the Marché du Film section of the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
