Since the start of his solo recording career in 2009, he has sold over 250 million singles worldwide and has achieved eleven platinum singles including "Wiggle", "Talk Dirty", "Want to Want Me", "Trumpets", "It Girl", "In My Head", "Ridin' Solo", and "Whatcha Say".

Released seven months after the original, the full-length album features seven songs from the international album as well as four newly recorded songs and was released by Warner Bros. Records on April 15, 2014. For the new material, Derulo worked with past collaborator Ricky Reed, as well as Jim Beanz, Timbaland, Sam Sumser, Chloe Angelides, Cirkut and DJ Mustard. New songs incorporate the same elements of hip hop, pop and R&B and styles previously seen in the original album. Talk Dirty features new collaborations with rappers Kid Ink, Snoop Dogg and Tyga.

The 2014 North and European American leg of Lindsey Stirling's tour consisted of her performing 77 shows over a five-month time span. For 2015, Stirling did 67 shows over five continents. Stirling toured around North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and South America, being her first time to present a show on this continent. In December 2014, it was confirmed that more than 200,000 people had attended Stirling's shows, more than half of those being in Europe.
