Ted Goveia is the general manager for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). [1] He is a three-time Grey Cup champion after winning with the Toronto Argonauts in 2012 and with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019 and 2021.

University playing career

Goveia played CIAU football for the Mount Allison Mounties from 1991 to 1993. [2]

Early coaching career

Following his playing career, Goveia joined the coaching staff for the Mount Allison Mounties in 1994. [3] He served as the offensive coordinator and won a Jewett Trophy with the team in 1997. [3] Goveia then served as head coach for the Burlington Braves from 1998 to 2000. [3] [4]

In 2001, Goveia joined the McMaster Marauders where he spent time as receivers coach, running backs coach, and special teams coordinator. [2] [5] He also served for the program's recruitment coordinator. [2] [5]

Goveia served as the offensive coordinator for the UBC Thunderbirds in 2005. [5] On January 18, 2006, Goveia was named the head coach of the Thunderbirds. [6] After a 4–4 season in 2006, he had three straight losing seasons and was fired at the end of the 2009 season when the team finished with 1–7 record. [6]

CFL career

Toronto Argonauts

After serving as a guest coach during training camp with the Toronto Argonauts for eight seasons, Goveia was named the team's full time running backs coach. [7] On March 2, 2011, Goveia was named director of Canadian scouting for the Argonauts. [8] He served in that capacity for two seasons and won his first Grey Cup championship in 2012 after the Argonauts defeated the Calgary Stampeders in the 100th Grey Cup. In the following season, he was promoted to director of player personnel on April 9, 2013. [9]

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

On December 5, 2013, Goveia was hired as the assistant general manager and director of player personnel of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. [10] Following the team's victory in the 107th Grey Cup in 2019, he was promoted to senior assistant general manager. [11] He won a second consecutive championship with the Blue Bombers in 2021 and signed a two-year contract extension shortly after. [11]

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

On December 5, 2024, Goveia was named the general manager of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. [7]

O'Shea is a three-time Grey Cup champion as a player, having won all three with the Argonauts in 1996, 1997, and 2004. He is also a two-time Grey Cup winning head coach, having won with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019 and 2021; O'Shea also won the Grey Cup previously as a special teams coach with the Toronto Argonauts in the 100th Grey Cup.

The 1960 CFL season is considered to be the seventh season in modern-day Canadian football, although it is officially the third Canadian Football League season.

Orlondo Steinauer is the president of football operations for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). As a player, he played professional Canadian football as a safety for 13 seasons with the Ottawa Rough Riders, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts from 1996 to 2008. He finished his career second all-time in CFL history for interception return yards with 1178 yards. Steinauer was a two-time Grey Cup champion as a player after winning in 1999 with the Tiger-Cats and in 2004 with the Argonauts. He has also won a championship as a coach, winning the 100th Grey Cup as the defensive backs coach for the Toronto Argonauts in 2012.

The Toronto Argonauts faced the Edmonton Eskimos in the Grey Cup. Although the Argos would hold on to win the game and their tenth Grey Cup championship, an Argo would not sip from the silver mug again until 1983.

Jim Daley is a Canadian football coach, who currently serves as the special teams coordinator and assistant head coach for the St. Francis Xavier X-Men football team. He has previously coached in the Canadian Football League from 1990 to 2014, including as head coach for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He has also been the head coach for the Ottawa Gee-Gees and Ottawa Sooners. Zachary J. Collaros is an American professional football quarterback for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Collaros won the 107th Grey Cup and 108th Grey Cup as the starting quarterback with the Blue Bombers when they defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in both games. He had previously won the Grey Cup as the backup quarterback with the Toronto Argonauts in the 100th Grey Cup. Collaros played college football for the Cincinnati Bearcats, and has also been a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Argonauts.
