Tejaswi Madivada is an Indian actress and model, who works predominantly in the Telugu film industry. A dance tutor turned actress, she made her acting debut in 2013 with Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and became noted after starring in Ice Cream . She was a contestant in reality TV show Bigg Boss Telugu 2 in 2018.
Madivada studied at Air Force school Begumpet. She studied Mass communication and Journalism at the St Francis College for Women in Hyderabad. She later worked part-time as a freelance dance instructor with Twist n Turns and took classes for MNCs like HSBC, Wipro, Franklin Templeton and in schools like Nasr School for Girls. [1] She had worked in various short films there one of the short film called "Dhanam Mulam Idham Jagath" short film got her recognition for her negetive shades. She participated at Miss Dabur Gulabari 2011, a beauty pageant, where she was the second runner-up and which reportedly got her first film offer. [1]
Madivada made her acting debut in 2013 with a supporting role in the Telugu family drama film Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu . [1] Next year she was seen in further supporting roles in Manam and in Nithin's Heart Attack , [2] before landing her first lead role in Ram Gopal Varma's horror film Ice Cream . The film made the headlines after it was reported that Madivada had appeared nude in one scene. [3] [4] [5] Ice Cream received mixed reviews from critics [6] but was a commercial blockbuster. [7]
Her next releases, Lovers, [8] Anukshanam , another Ram Gopal Varma directorial, [9] Kranthi Madhav's Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju, in which she portrayed Nithya Menen's daughter, [10] [11] Srimanthudu , and Pandaga Chesko [10] saw her playing secondary characters. Her subsequent projects were Omkar's Raju Gari Gadi, [11] Oorvasi Vo Rakshasi Vo, Subramaniam For Sale and her first Tamil film Natpathigaram 79. [12] In 2022 she appeared in a television dance series BB Jodi on Star Maa. [13]

It is the first Indian movie to be filmed with Flowcam System Technology and was released on 12 July 2014. The film deals with a character that is obsessed with eating ice cream and suffers from a nightmare disorder. Upon release, the film became a blockbuster at the box office.

Ram Gopal Varma has started a new distribution system with this film by auctioning this movie through a website. Released on 13 September 2014 without an intermission, the film opened to a mixed reception, with praise for Vishnu’s performance, the script and screenplay, but criticism of the gore, bloodshed and lack of characterisation.
