Shelby Lynne is an American singer and songwriter and the older sister of singer-songwriter Allison Moorer. The success of her pop rock album I Am Shelby Lynne (1999) led to her winning the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, despite it being her sixth studio album. She released a Dusty Springfield tribute album called Just a Little Lovin' in 2008. Since then she has started her own independent record label, called Everso Records, and released three albums: Tears, Lies and Alibis, Merry Christmas, and Revelation Road. Lynne is also known for her distinctive contralto voice.

"No Me Ames" is a Latin pop duet recorded by American singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony for Lopez's debut studio album, On the 6 (1999). It is a Spanish cover version of the Italian song "Non Amarmi", written by Giancarlo Bigazzi, Marco Falagiani and Aleandro Baldi and recorded by Baldi and Francesca Alotta for Baldi's album Il Sole (1993). The song was translated into Spanish by Ignacio Ballesteros at Anthony's request. Two versions of the song were produced for On the 6; one as a ballad and the other as a salsa. The ballad version was produced by Dan Shea, while the salsa version was arranged and produced by Juan Vicente Zambrano. The album produced two chart singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts: "Ready, Willing, and Able", which peaked at #20, and "Wild at Heart", which peaked at #56. "Ready, Willing, and Able" was previously cut by Daron Norwood on his 1995 album of the same name.
Restless is the fifth studio album by Shelby Lynne, released on July 18, 1995 on Magnatone Records, and later re-released on Curb Records. Lynne co-wrote six of the songs on the album. The album is considered the last in a series of efforts for Lynne to attract mainstream country music audiences, this time incorporating elements of western swing. Allmusic's Bil Carpenter gave Soft Talk a star rating of three out of five and described it as "defiant, emotionally draining country." People considered the album "more subdued" but a "pleasing package".

The album was released on April 5, 2011, via Curb Records, and includes twelve of The Judds' singles and two newly recorded songs. The album's first single, "I Will Stand by You", was released to country radio in late 2010.
Whisper a Prayer is the third studio album by British singer-songwriter Mica Paris. It was released on June 8, 1993 by 4th & B'way Records, her last for the label. Recording sessions for the album commenced in the spring of 1992 and concluded the following spring with Paris co-writing four of the twelve songs and producing one. Maher engineered classic recordings like Ike and Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” and The 5th Dimension's "Age of Aquarius". He discovered The Judds and produced all ten of their albums, writing many of their hit songs. Maher has also served two terms on the board of directors of the Academy of Country Music.
