Tha Truth is the seventh studio album by American rapper Trae tha Truth. It was released on July 24, 2015, by ABN Entertainment, Grand Hustle Records and Empire Distribution. Tha Truth serves as his first release under the Grand Hustle Records. The production on the album was provided by J. Cole, Jae the Giant, and League of Starz; as well as the album features guest appearances from his label-mate T.I., along with several other artists such as Nipsey Hussle, Jeremih, and Ty Dolla Sign, among others. Background

In March 2012, Trae tha Truth signed a recording contract to Atlanta-based rapper T.I.'s Grand Hustle Records imprint. [3] [4] In March 2013, Trae revealed that the title to the album would be called Banned. [5] On March 17, 2015, Trae tha Truth revealed that his seventh album would be a double album, called Tha Truth. [6] He also unveiled the album's cover art, while revealing that this album would be released on June 22, 2015. [6] However, the album was delayed, along with the changes on the album cover.

Singles

"I Don't Give a Fuck" was released as the album's first single via digital distribution on June 9, 2015. [7] The song features guest verse from a fellow American rapper Rick Ross, with the production by Jae the Giant.

The album's second single, "Tricken Every Car I Get" was released on July 3, 2015. [8] The song features guest verses from these American rappers Future and Boosie Badazz, with the production by League of Starz. On July 24, the music video for "Tricken Every Car I Get", featuring Future and Boosie Badazz, directed by Philly Fly Boy, premiered on WorldStarHipHop. [9]

Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., better known by the stage names T.I. and Tip, is an American rapper. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Harris is known as one of the pioneers of the hip hop subgenre trap music, along with fellow Atlanta-based rappers Jeezy and Gucci Mane. Harris first became aquainted with local music executive Kawan "KP" Prather, and joined his company Ghet-O-Vision Entertainment by the late 1990s. Torence Ivy Hatch Jr., better known by his stage name Boosie BadAzz or simply Boosie, is an American rapper. Hatch began rapping in the 1990s as a member of the Southern hip hop collective Concentration Camp, eventually pursuing a solo career in 2000 with the release of his debut album Youngest of da Camp. After leaving the label the following year, he signed with Pimp C's Trill Entertainment to release his second studio album, For My Thugz (2002). One of the most prominent figures of Southern hip hop, Hatch has gone on to release thirteen solo studio albums, as well as seven collaborative albums and 44 mixtapes.

Grand Hustle Records, also known as Hustle Gang Music, is an American hip hop record label, founded in 2003, by American rapper T.I. and his manager Jason Geter. The label was distributed by Atlantic Records until December 2012, and has since operated as an independent record label. Its roster has included acts such as 8Ball & MJG, B.o.B, Killer Mike, Young Dro, DJ Drama, Meek Mill, Chip, Travis Scott, and Trae tha Truth, the latter of whom also served as the label's vice president. The label also houses a roster of record producers, which has included Lil' C, Mars and Nard & B.
