The Art of Letting Go is the third studio album by American songwriter and Alter Bridge lead singer Myles Kennedy. It is the follow-up to 2021's The Ides of March . It was released on October 11, 2024, via Napalm Records.

Background

On June 10, 2024, Myles Kennedy announced his third solo album, further divulging that the project begins with riff-heavy songs, and closes in a haunting fashion. [1]

In an interview, Kennedy discussed the difference between releasing a solo album compared to his work with Slash and Alter Bridge, and explained that there are a ton of songs and ideas that he would like to express that simply wouldn't work in other realms. [2]

After their former band Creed became inactive in 2003, Tremonti and Phillips formed a new band with former bandmate Marshall and new member Kennedy; Alter Bridge was formally unveiled in January 2004, months before Creed's official breakup in June.

The album also features Eric Friedman playing bass once again since Wolfgang Van Halen departed the band. The album is accompanied by a full-length novel under the same name written by Mark Tremonti and John Shirley, tying together loose ends of the album's plot. Frontman Mark Tremonti stated that the album is the most dynamic and diverse in his entire catalog. The album's first radio single, "Take You with Me", was released April 16, 2018. In an interview with Kylie Olsson, Kennedy stated that he was listening to this record and told himself that he basically just made a "rock" record but only adding elements from his previous solo effort like acoustic guitar and lap steel guitar.

4 is the fourth studio album by Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, and Slash's fifth solo album overall. It was released on February 11, 2022, as the first album from the new Gibson Records label. The album was produced by country producer Dave Cobb in Nashville. The album was announced on October 20, 2021, with the release of the first track "The River Is Rising" as a single.
