The Beanstalk Group (Beanstalk) is a global brand extension licensing agency and consultancy headquartered in New York City, with offices in London, Miami, and Cincinnati, [1] [2] and affiliates in Asia, India, Latin America, and Australia. The company has about 75 employees.
Licensing means renting or leasing of an intangible asset. It is a process of creating and managing contracts between the owner of a brand and a company or individual who wants to use the brand in association with a product, for an agreed period of time, within an agreed territory. Licensing is used by brand owners to extend a trademark or character onto products of a completely different nature.
Michael S. Stone and Seth M. Siegel co-founded the company in 1991. It was purchased by Ford Motor Company in June 2001, [3] and then sold it to Omnicom Group in October 2005. [4] The company is now a part of the Diversified Agency Services (DAS) division of Omnicom Group. [5] In December 2010, Nancy Bailey & Associates was acquired by the company.[ citation needed ]
Seth M. Siegel is an American businessman, writer, and activist. He is the author of the 2015 New York Times Best Seller, Let There Be Water: Israel's Solution for a Water-Starved World. He has also founded or co-founded several companies including, The Beanstalk Group and Sixpoint Partners. Additionally, Siegel has produced shows for Broadway and television, and his essays and articles have appeared in publications including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, and others.

The Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA), founded in 1985, is the industry trade group of the $80 billion licensing industry. With over 1,000 member companies representing everything from major movie and TV studios and mega corporate brands down to individual artists, LIMA pioneered the annual Licensing Show in New York City and conducts seminars at the show in all aspects of licensing. Originally twelve members, it now has offices in New York, London, Munich, Tokyo and Shanghai.
